Finished act 1 and teleported to act 2 start. Had a break and restarted game but for the life of me i cannot get out of act 1 to get to act 2.

Hit M for the map menu. At the top there are 4 buttons for the 4 time zones with quest markers (yellow for story, blue for side rewards). Hit one of those. To the right you will see active quests in that time zone. On the map you will see waypoints with those quest markers. Right-click where you want to go.
Di d that, both available towns, the council chambers and cultist camp are both locked. However i see on the map a small lighted area just above the council chambers which is probably my teleport destination, but it will not let me port to it. Okay i think it is ok, Crumbling ruins waypoint was active so i could use that, thanks a lot for the help.
Worst case if you haven’t gone through the area after the boss to reach the next portal you’ll simply have to re-do it from the last ‘checkpoint’ so to speak.
