Currently the game has an Endgame Bow for Fire and for Cold. Thinking along the same lines a Lightning based bow would be nice. A special ability to shoot lightning that chains to nearby enemies or has a chance to proc a lightning strike on the target that has a ground based aoe that can hit close by targets sounds pretty cool. It should apply the shock status debuff or apply a temporary stun or immobilization. Maybe it could have a synergy with knockback since currently there is not one.
Not to dismiss the suggestion entirely, I think a unique that works around detonating arrow of the lightning variety as a blue would be good but the skill tree really does already conver a lot of these features. Maybe more accessory style uniques that are lightning based for rogue would be good.
Detonating Arrow also covers cold and fire damage. You could make that argument for any of the primary elements I think. I would like to see being able to take advantage of the element with any bow skill, not just Detonating Arrow. I hope that makes sense?
I see the validity in what you are saying and im not dismissing it. It has value as an argument in favor of an alternate design which I appreciate greatly and I thank you for taking the time to respond.
I hope that something fun will be done with Lightning on the bow outside of Detonating Arrow.
