New information on unique item (LP, LP Difficulty, Rarity)

Hi,
The level of rarity of each unique should be displayed on it.
something like that is displayed in dammitt planer for example.
(common, uncom, rare, very rare…)

Legendary potential should be turned into a new implicit affix with fixed range for all unique.
So that all unique will have a range of legendary potential 0 to 4, 1 to 4, 0 to 2…
It should be similar to all other affix, and easier to understand.
And so we will have a clear picture if we can hope for a LP4 item is a dream or not.

if the chance to get lower or higher legendary potential is not based on item rarity, maybe also display something similar to “rarity”, some kind of “LP chance” with very low/low/medium/high.

I like data, but the devs have said that they don’t want to display all the data that’s in/used by the game. That the data is available elsewhere is, to an extent, out of their hands (since the game needs the data & Dammitt’s site pulls it from the game files).

rarity or lp chance, it is not “precise” data.
i don’t ask for %chance according to which corruption level…

but at least know the range of possible FP seems quite minimal information.
it is like any other affix for me.
It would also avoid some player to farm quest item in hope of LP on it for example.
Or try to farm Mono 500+ corruption in hope of LP4 unique, that can only have LP3 at best.

That’s easy, 0-4 for any unique except the 3 that can’t spawn with LP. No uniques have limits on a “max” LP they can have, just the probability of them getting it (which you said is not data you want to know).

What I would like to see is the Game Guide expanded to include all of the uniques and their affix rolls, maybe “unlocking” the data if you have found one of them. And have the Game Guide properly linked like the Civilopedia/UFOpedia. I’d then include all of the affix tier data in it as well (t1 = x-y, t2 = y-z, etc) by item slot.

Hopefully at some point the Game Guide will be converted into something that sucks the data up from the game files (like Dammitt’s & Tunk’s sites do) rather than it being all hardcoded. It’d be a lot easier to maintain, update & add stuff to.

when i read legendary potential level on :

when you know that 200 = 0 FP max.
and the rest is from 0 to 115…
I am start to think that some value past 100 will never have 4LP, maybe even 3LP…

Any way, even if it is really 0 to 4 even at 115.
It is should be nice to have it write on the item, like all other implicit affix, to avoid doubt and question about it for any new player…
Lot of players don’t read forum, discord, or even the game guide…

That’s not how it works, that figure is used in a formula to calculate the probability of LP. Any unique that can have LP can spawn with 4 if you’re “lucky” enough for it to get the correct roll.

If you want to write every single piece of data/information that a player could possibly want to know about an item on the tooltip then it would quickly become an unwieldy mess & likely require scrolling. That’s why I think it’s better to put that kind of info in the Game Guide where it’s easily available to anyone who wants to but doesn’t clutter up the screen if they don’t want to.

Lots of players don’t read stuff in the game either, you can’t make a thing idiot-proof, that just forces the universe to make better idiots.

And what if they can’t read English? Adding more stuff to the item cards/tooltips just throws more stuff those players can’t process at them.

People will still try to farm 4LP items thinking they are realistically attainable. It might be on the items with 0 Effective Level for LP, but anything higher is going to be practically impossible. Its like someone trying to farm for a T28 item. It’s a lottery win, not a farmable item.

so not it will be better to put a fixed range on each item ? that let’s hope everyone that we can win the lottery with 1 chance on 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999… ?

As stated somewhere else, for things like Orion’s Eye and the Ravenous Void, it is something like 1 in 160,000,000,000,000,000 for them to drop with 4LP. Someone mentioned that it was a larger number than the age of the universe in seconds. LOL.

What the devs said was that 1 in 16,000,000,000,000,000,000 (you’d missed off 2 zeroes = 1.6x10^19) Ravenous Voids that dropped would have 4LP, which, as I said in Discord, is a bigger number than the number of seconds that have elapsed since the beginning of time (assuming 13 billion years = 4.1x10^17) to the tune of a factor of 100 ish.

Come on everyone… Gotta love those odds… First one to a 4LP Ravenous Void gets a beer…

Lets goooooo…

:skull:

I hope we can have a beer even without finding that! If not, that’s sad.
