Going through the campaign to get passive skill points and guild, became kinda tedious after the first time.
Maybe create something else for players that have already experienced the story, and really just want to get started with the endgame content during a new season
D3’s adventure mode was a step in the right direction
You already get the dungeons as a shortcut for your second+ character.
Instead of fully skipping the campaign, that system and the campaign itself should be made more interesting (with that I really mean the campaign and quests / how you acquire passive points and idol slots. Not just add more bloat like Nemesis or Omen Windows). Everything else would just be a bandaid and make any more content they’re going to release as part of a season even more shortlived than it already is.
See skip portal charm (which was stated to be a bandaid by a dev at some point!).
‘During a new season’ would cause issues in both competition related to leaderboards as well as competition related to the market. Hence it cannot be done without making those things even more of a joke then they already are, and that’s not the goal.
Secondary character is absolutely fine to be sped up, and we got the dungeon skips for that. Which can be improved further and asking for that is viable. First character skips are not a viable ask, never were.
No, it wasn’t actually.
It always looks like it because their campaign was not well designed gameplay wise (not the story, gameplay experience). That’s why the quicker adventure mode passing the weak mechanical parts seemed like an upside.
In reality the task of a game dev is to provide a mechanically engaging campaign experience similar to how for example Grim Dawn feels (the campaign areas being the whole game basically but allowing long-term engagement as it’s well set up) instead of simply throwing it into the garbage bin.
I don’t understand why players want to skip the campaign. Essentially the entire game boils down to load into a map, complete your objective, then move onto the next map.
This is the same during the campaign all the way upto empowered monoliths.
1 x sentinel = VK, FG, Pally or 1 x Primalist = Sham, Beast, Druid and so on, you’d need a max of 5 char’s in total and you can play every class since respecing is instant and cheap as hell.
Second chars would generally have twink’d out boots with 30 move speed slammed on them with their base move speed bonus, a krestel with 5-7% more move speed then some arb circ rings for another 10-16% or so and now a new fossil relic at 11 adding 10 more plus you have crabby ring / phantom gloves with swiftness, you can do the whole campaign inc the new stuff in super quick time. If you don’t have that stuff from your first char then you haven’t spent nearly long enough playing it and that’s your fault (shame). All items super common drop, maybe T6 move speed to slam on boots but either way, speed levelling to the point where you dont even need to kill monsters as you race through the maps unless a specific named rare is needed for a quest.
Doing monos is no less tedious than doing the same map imo. ARPGS all have a level of repetition.
Anyways I see your opinion and I hear it, I am not dismissing it. I just feel maybe you’ve not had the experience to churn out a 3-4 hour campaign clear which really isn’t that tedious
