This is a fun build I’ve been cooking for a long time and wanted to stack endurance threshold to increase bleed duration. With all the endurance threshold tech in pally we just needed a skill and way to make this work.
Which we have with Vengeance and it’s new rework where physical resist increases Bleed pen on overcapped resistance. Then we are using an old weapon Torkrefen’s Hunger which also adds in Bleed Pen and chance per 5 uncapped Physical resistance.
So we have a nice double dip by stacking physical resistances to achieve some crazy bleeds now to take advantage of all the bleed duration we will be using Abyssal echoes to consume all bleeds on the target and do that damage instantly for huge damage, chaining to all bleeding targets on the screen exploding them.
In the below planner is my 96 pally with decent gear and the last few points will be to max out blademaster for attack speed. I have on an exalt ring and only 1lp titan, seed, salt so I do think this build has range to grow.
What I love about the build idea is stacking HP to do damage because that HP equals more endurance threshold. Also we get to use Seed of Ekkidrasil helm which also turns more of our HP into endurance threshold while also diverting damage to mana as another layer of mitigation.
I also feel like Torkfen’s hunger is a really cool fast sword but never got used but now with Vengeance rework and stacking physical resistance for bleed pen in the skill this weapon was made for this build.
This planner isn’t Min/Maxed I’m not even sure if the Abyssal echo tree or everything is set up perfectly. You could even play this build with different gear and even dual wield or Beast master axe/Flayer’s pride shield.
I just think this build is a fun very different spin on Pally who can utilize some cool new tech and bleeds for something different and wanted to make a post to see what others could come up and iterate on the build. Also maybe you would enjoy if you are looking for something different.
Since this build is turning defense into offense in End Game gear can be a serious threat for all content and who knows how high the bleed explosions can get.
Defense is decent because over 2,000 endurance threshold and 4500 HP, you have sustain, some ward from healing hands, DR from titan and damage to mana. I’d like more armor. Think you should be able to get 5k+ HP maybe 2,200+ threshold.
Red rings in this build would be great if you can get the attribute requirement which I did have with flayer pride. Reason is the All resist on red ring is actually more Bleed pen and endurance threshold.
Ohh right I transitioned into the 2hand build from Beast King axe and Flayer pride shield. Great catch, i’ll update the planner. I wanted to give the 2hand a full go so should get out of that.
It feels like the 2hand set up should be BiS with Torkfen’s hunger but I’m not completely sold thinking about some other ideas. I personally hate no regen on Titan and prefer a shield.
I’ve also recently thought about using a catalyst with Symbols of Demise as if you ramp the healing hands does provide some decent ward to consume to give you stacks of demise for 200% bleed total and 1% bleed duration per stack (unlimited). If I could get a reliable burst of ward to consume might be the best Dps option.
Yea haven’t recorded or uploaded any content. I’ve done 600c mono’s and bosses with my medium gear on this build. I do need to start though cause I have several builds I’ve cooked up between my Auradin and Spine of Malatros Shield throw FG.
I will try you build Symbol of Demise look very good, may be some combo-wombo with rebuke amulet work! Apostate’s Sanctuary this one, 8 wps for 1% uncupeed phys res. But we need to change body for that, no regen on spell cast
Apostate’s Sanctuary into Symbol of Demise looks like it’d be super good on paper for this build! It would need a bit of setup for single target (rebuke until Symbol eats your ward → attack → repeat), but that would in a way kind of synergize with Torkrefin’s, since it only give you one stack every 2 seconds, so needing to stop attacking every now and then wouldn’t be that much of a loss.
True. I feel like Taste of Blood might be a good think to pair with Symbol of Demise, since it would help condense the very long bleeds into shorter times, but if the build already uses Abyssal Decay to instapop the bleeds, I’m not sure it’s that useful.
Besides, it’s true that Torkrefin already synergizes well with Vengeance; using something else would probably work, but it would be a shame to lose that synergy.
Beast king probably best and what I was using since it has bleed duration, bleed chance and melee attack speed on it. So it’s just a faster better axe.
I thought about that ammy not sure how it might work in application because you need to ramp and attack then press abyssal decay. The stacks fall off and are replaced every 3 seconds. So you need something to generate ward fast while also applying bleeds. Which is why healing hands works well since it’s attached to your attacks.
I feel like if you try to charge with that ammy it consumes all the ward you now only have 2 seconds to attack you really aren’t getting damage out.
In the build really the best case scenario for damage isn’t even attaining max stacks of bleed but to press abyssal echoes every 5 seconds when nether coating wears off as that is also an attack speed buff. This way you maintain maximal debuff on the target to take increase damage and you apply more stacks to consume consistently.
I did think of maybe trying to use Ashes of mortality ring maybe if you could get some ignite stacks that ring can give huge pops of ward per ignite stacks but then the build might be getting overly complicated. However if you did ramp up a few 100 ignite stacks would give you good ward.
None the less the build has some fun mechanics no one was exploring which is why I ended up making this thread. Let me know if you have success with messing with it.
