Nemesis & Patch 1.1.2 in the Campaign

I wasted hours looking for Nemesis that never spawned. I played multiplayer games where party members would encounter a Nemesis and I could not see it. This was an incredibly frustrating experience for me. Eventually I figured out how the Nemesis system works in the campaign post the 1.1.2 patch: Max 4 encounters in one area level or lower; then progress to a higher area level. I am still struggling with and frustrated by this change from the 1.1.2 patch.

I should point out that for the most part I have been working through the campaign for the first time and did not have access to (chose not to skip ahead to) the monolith timelines and echos.

I reached out to the support team and they instructed me to reach out to the developers in this forum with my questions. In regards to the change from the 1.1.2 patch:
“if the player interacts with nemesis in a campaign zone of a certain level, and then interacts with a nemesis in campaign zones at or below that level three more times, the nemeses will not appear for them in campaign zones of that level or below.”

  • What was the root purpose behind the change?

  • What is the intended behaviour that I should expect? Is Nemesis farming expected?

  • Should I abandon trying to encounter Nemesis with my characters and find alternate gear sources?

The main issue that I am still dealing with is for characters still in the campaign, how can I know which area level to go to for Nemesis bosses?
