Hi
I am building a cold based pure minion build. I am currently level 76 and it is working great with golem, skeleton archers and mages and wraiths.
For my last specialization I am using aura of decay with “Cold death” and “Chill to the bone”.
My question is about the nodes “Vulnerability” and “Fume weaver”
Does anyone know if the enemy poison resistance is also swithced to enemy cold resistance?
The enemy’s resistance is not “switched” based on what you are doing, but the resistance you are working against (poison, cold, etc.) is based on what damage type you are doing (poison, cold, etc.).
So if you are doing poison damage you are going against their poison resistance, if you are doing cold then you are going against their poison resistance.
Given the wording on the cold conversion node, I’d assume that yes, those two nodes you mention are converted to affect cold resist instead of poison resist but I’ve not tested it.
Yes it does. Hence AoD is a staple on phys/cold builds like the popular new Cold Flay.
For minion’s you should def go with Lich’s scorn too as there’s great synergy for additional cold dmg and pen.
First, Dread shade’s debuff only applies to a single minion while everything in the AoE gets the buffs so even if it dies, you just have to resummon one minion and reapply shade to it.
Secondly, almost everyone uses Dread shade with the node that removes the health drain as its a PITA and makes it increase damage taken instead. Putting it on a tanky minion so you don’t have to worry about losing it is typically the play.
If I need a little extra damage I’ll throw a shade on a Wraith so theres some synergy with Flesh Harvest and the decaying hp on dangerous enemies or bosses.
