Overall, this is my favorite ARPG - by far. I like the breadth and depth of options per class. The overall game play speed is better than average - the last 10 levels feel like a slog with very little progression left it just gets very repetitive those last 10. While this is my favorite ARPG, there are still areas that could be improved to make the game even better.
Here are my suggestions/issues in order of importance to me:
-
The game is too dark too often. Even at max brightness it can be very hard to see in certain areas. Any glare from the outside and forget it. Any type of even mild vision impairment - forget it. Increase the base brightness and give more brightness options.
-
Some boss 1 shots are very hard to see coming, and with the above darkness, issues are near impossible to see at times.
-
In general, I don’t like 1-shot mechanics, and as you have seen, the way people work around it is to find all kinds of Ward generation bugs or min/max that take other options away. Ward is so much better than any other defensive right now. Give more options on ways to provide effective defense and minimize 1 shots to certain boss circumstances.
-
Crafting has an initial very high bar to figure out, and if it takes watching multiple content creator videos to figure out the system, it is a sign that it can be improved/simplified. Include more ways to forge legendaries than just the Julra fight. After a while, it gets real old. Or make it so that once you beat her on each level, you just access the legendary forge.
-
Improve loot filters and marketplace search options. Given the crazy amount of drops, loot filters and search capabilities are essential. Managing inventory is like a game within a game right now, and it isn’t fun. Cut back on the sheer amount of item drops, improve filters, allow filters to send things directly to your stash, etc.
-
Continue improving balance across the classes - I mean, the difference between the average Warlock and the best Forge Armor is crazy - in fact, Forge Armor is terrible for endgame right now - you already know it, but it is just an example of the continued work that needs to be done to balance better.
Thanks for listening.
