Musics could change

So it’s not a priority ofc, you have more urgent topic to adress, but yea, musics in this game are not necessarely bad, but they are really “meh” … like even when I do hours and hours of grinding, i don’t even notice those, or rather they don’t stick to me at all. And that the case for every musics in the game.
Some games have awesome musics (elden rings, destiny, Hades, etc etc) that even days/months after I’ve stopped playing, I can still remember the musics making me a bit nostalgic about those games. But in Last Epoch, well that’s not the case at all, at least for the music.
So yea of course it’s not as important as fixing servers issues and stuff, ofc I could simply put a playlist from youtube instead and ofc it’s heavily linked to the money you can invest in the music department but yea, for if you have the time I would heavily suggest to totally change those musics.
(Only the music from game menu sticks since it’s quite a meme with this funny voice at the start).
Srry for whoever wrote those musics btw, but as a musician myself I feel I have to say how I feel about those, whether it would change anything or not (and maybe I’m the only one thinking those musics are really “meh”)

You are not the first person to say this

The real issue is that the music does not fit the context, mostly being calm music in an action filled game. Calm music is fine when in a town, but out in areas with enemies, given that you do not go a second without hitting one, it just doesn’t fit.

Now this may be confusing, as hollow knight has a lot of memorable tunes in the traversable zones that are rather calm, but the difference is hollow knight is a platformer and enemy encounters are less important than the traversal of the area. In LE, the combat is the focus.

I think the general world music is fine, I don’t necessarily consider music to be the forefront when you’re in the monolith or whatever. But music during boss fights could ramp up significantly. I’d also love to see some dynamic music effects when more loot mechanics are introduced to the monolith web.

Imagine a bardic trader that randomly appears and as you enter the monolith you can hear a bard’s song faintly playing in the background that gets louder as you get closer. Would be a really interesting take on the sound for ARPGs.

I disagree, it gets boring fast to the point that I have to put something on in the background.

Oh, that’s what I meant. The music in monoliths and whatever in the game is more of background music. I also listen to something else while playing. But having some key moments with dramatic music or adaptive music to specific events would be a good first step to making it more meaningful.
