Multiplayer monolith loot: should it all go to the chest at the end?

Idea: having 100% of the echo drops show up in the chest at the end, for 2+ player runs. Different players spend vastly-different amounts of time analyzing loot and it can result in unnecessary friction inside an echo. Who knows… maybe it could even result in smoother gameplay (fewer objects on the screen) when there’s already a tougher load from more calculations from more player actions. No idea whether item drops can affect game performance but it does seem to have some impact (i.e. when hitting “X” to disable loot filter, etc). I do like the current proportion of in-echo vs ending chest a lot for solo play and think it makes a ton of sense in many ways how you have it set up for that.

Would that not push people towards a more zoom zoom mentality? Not sure.

I don’t think so, because you would still have to defeat the mobs to have their loot show up in the chest.

The sheer amount of loot you would be sucking up would be a nightmare to sort out. I could see maybe having shards pick up like gold - but gear needs to be a selective pick up.

If something like this were implemented, I think it would need to be able to be filtered out with player filters.

Regardless of whether it dropped in-echo or out, it would take the same amount of time to go through the same number of items. Arguably a touch faster if you can do it all at once.

Well, as I said - if filters were to apply to what is sorted into your stash or the end-of-instance chest, I think it could work - otherwise, you have a bunch of extra stuff in the chest you wouldnt have even seen if you were just running around with your loot filter running

When you open the chest and items drop on the ground, your filters already apply to that.

The biggest “issue” I can think of is that item tooltips/names don’t reset their position and so if you hit X with a bunch of items near you, some get shoved super far off-screen to the side and releasing X doesn’t undo that. I’ve lost items to this before despite them being right on the ground in front of me, when doing inventory management things. It actually wasn’t even a hitting X thing, it was just too many on the ground in the End of Time area and I couldn’t move far enough to the side of the map to get to the item names. Hitting X just magnifies this issue.
