Movement / Running feels floaty and has no weight

Hello,

I must say that I really enjoy playing Last Epoch and I can not wait for the full release.

However, there is one huge thing I am bothered about every time I play.
The character movement/running feels floaty., I don’t know how to explain it. It feels to me like the character has no weight. Like if I was just running on ice, sliding around.

Also, the animation speed of the movement does not reflect the actual movement speed of your character.

Please, try to work on it before the 1.0.

Thank you

Over the years of the Alpha and Beta they have actually done a fantastic job of adding more and more ‘weight’ to the feel of the game. Even last patch added some great ‘feel’ to combat. It’s still got room to grow but it’s so much better now.

But the footstep/walking thing is still, to me, probably the biggest setup back to this. There is a very distinct walking on air feel to almost all the characters. Part of it I think is the animation doesn’t quit match/change to adjust to increases in movement speed so if you get higher speed than about 30% it starts to look/feel very off.

Also, the lack of footprints and character shadow hinders this as well.

Yes, I believe this has improved quite a lot and I most likely it will be improved over time but I wanted to bring this to devs’ attention as it bothers me quite a lot. More than the other issues the game has.

  1. When cursor is near the character, it’s like running on ice.
  2. When slowly turning 180 degrees, character often slides sideways or even backwards, while still running.

You summed it up perfectly.

They did a lot to make this better sadly it’s far from enough to get rid of the floaty feeling. Still I think they have more pressing matters at hand right now while getting movement right is an important thing to do.
