Do faction ranks carry over from the cycle to legacy? Example, if I start with the new cycle and ignore legacy, at the end of the cycle, will legacy get the faction ranks from the cycle (I would assume it would be the max of the current legacy rank or cycle rank for each of the factions)
Since we use in game gold to purchase stash tabs, how will the inventory from the cycles be carried over to legacy? If all of the tabs just carry over (like POE) then people will create as many new tabs as possible in the cycle to get them transfered for free at the end of the cycle.
EDIT: Thanks for the replies reminding me that POE converts the tabs to ‘remove only’. That would remedy this.
Given that I am a slow player (and don’t care about ladders), I am seriously thinking to just play in legacy* - but will probably start a new character with one of the new classes - I think it just makes sense to so and build up the factions for COF and MG
In PoE they get carried over to standard but as remove-only tabs, where you can’t stash anything there and have to remove them.
In D2R you have one season to move stuff to your stash. When the next season starts, current season tabs get moved to remove-only and previous ones are deleted.
I seem to remember something about them adopting the remove-only model, though I’m not sure. So if they do, there will be no benefit to buying as many tabs as you can, since you can’t put stuff in them.
I would imagine that’s the case. Otherwise, it would cheese the incremental cost of stash tabs. Since they would be cheaper to buy in a cycle league, and then have them xfer over at the end.
Mike once talked about this on a stream and he said, that it is somethign they didn’t work on yet, but if they would do it would be highly likely to implement some kind of system that calculates the total amount of gold spent into stash tabs and then when stuff would be migrated to legacy it would add more stash tabs worth the combined cost of all your cycle stash tabs.
So for example of you already have 50 stash tabs in legacy and the next stash tab costs 900000 gold you woudl only get one additional stash tab if all your legacy stash tabs combiend costed at least 900000 gold.
No one has answered your other question, but I believe it was answered in one of the two most recent interviews.
If you have a cycle character with MG rank 9 and it converts to a legacy character. It will make your MG rank in legacy either go up to that rank, or if you have a higher rank it won’t affect it.
