Just slammed a 3LP Confluence of Fate, missed out on the only T7 I had on the exalted item I had. Which, of course, is the one I really wanted. I have to say, it feels really bad, and is a major demotivational situation. The odds of finding a 3LP are rare, and when you finally get a exalted that you feel is worth smashing, only to brick the item instead of finally getting a “final” piece that you probably won’t be able to upgrade…
Please let us do something about this. I don’t know if it’s letting us reuse/ reclaim the item, so we can smash it again, or if it’s a weighted smash chance, so that higher tiered rolls on the exalted item have a higher chance to transfer over.
I know I would be more motivated if I could try a smash, and if I didn’t get it, just strip it clean and find another exalted and smash it again. Or if we could remove an attribute (or 2, or 3) and get that much LP back on the item.
Some type of crafting so “bricked” items don’t just become salvage.
Its even worse when you find a 2/3LP and the unique has garbage rolls which makes it worse than a non-LP version. Very common for uniques like Blood Roost or Plaguebearer’s staff.
That would make it immensely easier to smash 3, 2 and heck, even 1 LP. Not sure this is ever happening as it would kinda dumb down the whole Legendary crafting system. Imagine getting a free second chance for smashing a 1 LP Red Ring…
They might change it in some other way, but I don’t think they would ever just give people a straight up second chance like that, because there are Runes of Creation that can effectively copy the exalted item before you slam, so you would have to put no effort into finding another exalted item if you got one of those runes.
True, but those runes don’t grow on trees, and most people probably aren’t using many of them (if they use them at all). It would be great if people had more ways to try to get that perfect item. The multiple levels of RNG to try to get an item you don’t feel like needs to be replaced is demotivating.
If I knew that I could strip an item back and try again, I’d probably use those runes more often.
