This has been requested often. I know that I currently do play alts the same way as the first character, although some take me a lot longer to get to then through the monos.
There have been many suggestions on how to make the monos better and the sharing of progression with alts is one that people continue to post requests on from time-to-time.
I know I’d sure like it but I also know that the blessings is intended to be one of the “chase” items in the game.
Yeah this is an old chestnut that most agree we need some sort of solution for alts.
BUT
Its not as simple as you think it could be - especially if progression in Monoliths also includes not only the completion of the monolith but the Corruption level. Remember that monolith progression increases the difficulty of the monoliths and if you are starting a new alt and want to progress you could end up facing monolith progressions that your uber BiS corruption 1000 favourite build was able to achieve.
So what do you do then? Reset the monoliths after all that work by your uber char so that the alt can progress? What about fast leveling in normal monoliths? Or the level xp cap gaining window? Or farming non-empowered bosses to get some of their lower level uniques? What about blessings per char?
Not saying that there isnt a solution here - like maybe there is just a fast track option that is unlocked after one char completes all empowerd monoliths but its not as simple as sharing progression.
IMO, mono unlocks (but not blessings) should be shared with the sames rules as the stash (not between sc/hc or across SSF “boundaries”), that way you can take any character to play whatever mono (inc empowered) whenever you feel it’s ready. But if you want a particular blessing you still need to actually play the game.
Corruption should be treated as it is at the moment withon a specific character but across the account (within sc/hc/etc) so that any mono on any character gets bonus corruption on shade kills if its lower than the highest corruption shade you’ve done on any (sc/hc/etc) character. So if character A has 1,000 corruption on Reign of Dragons (their highest), then character B gets bonus corruption on shade kills in any/every mono that’s less than 1,000 corruption.
That would be perfect, and I think have great sinergy to the actual game without breaking any current system.
I have been asking for better ways to scalate higher corruption, but I would settle with the current low corruption income if we had a shared bonus to alts.
Also agree blessings should stay out of the equation, each char need to farm it independently
There is ways to polish the corruption gain in alts without touching the core mechanics devs intend to preserve. In this case I’m ok with blessing being still a “chase” goal.
I think its not that hard to create better ways to alts gain more corruption if your best char have achieved it before.
As mentioned by Llama here, his suggestion would not bring any of these issues.
