Monolith of faith, first time experience, too easy?

i made a character all the way up to lvl 80, a sentinel, i am now at monolith 90 and have to clear all 3 areas. but here is the thing, i am a hammerdin build, my tooltip dps says 6000 when fully buffed, my overall crits on mobs is around 900-1300 DAMAGE. which is absolutly insanely low, but even that low dmg is ripping every trash mob and elite and bosses in echoes to shreds within seconds, and some get one shotted by hammers… why is this so easy? what am i missing, empowered rift says to increase dmg and hp with 50% but that is not enough even close to enough to provide a real challenge,

is this just me having an easy time with this? i see ppl having 10 million DPS on youtube, if going for that high dps even for fun what is the point if a fraction like 1000 dmg can stomp the content,

First of all welcome to the board :).

Outside of specific trashmobs most of them are no problem. The real deal are the bosses and even those get easier when you understand what stuff they do and when. A lot of people say it’s to easy, a lot of people say it’s to hard.

I don’t think Monoliths are the real endgame deal, because not eversything is implemented, and theirfor I’m okay with it when it comes to the balance monoliths.

Hey buddy,
I recognize your name and question from the steam forums. :v:

I doubt you will get a different answer here.

Since you haven’t played empowered timelines you may not be able to judge the difficulty just by guessing.

Empowered timelines don’t just increase the damage an hp of enemies. They deal more damage and have more hp. This modifier is multiplicative with all other mods and means a significant change.

I’d suggest you try first before stating that empowered timelines are too easy.

Also you are lucky because you chose hammerdin as your first char. It’s one of the stronger builds.

Also you can test your build/skills in the arena. There you have infinite scaling enemies.

Have fun here and with the game!

Monoliths are one endgame activity, but when the game releases there will be four. We don’t know the relationship between endgame activities or the order. Maybe Monoliths is just the “entry point” or the easy mode, maybe the others are more difficult. We don’t know yet.

Besides the devs have said that DPS comparison is only to compare two pieces of gear so you know which one is better for your build . It doesn’t compare two different skills from different builds at least that is not what it was meant for.

WELL That doesnt help, if the t ooltip is better with attack speed than on crit multiplier and crit chance, it doesnt give me the correct form, i may cast faster and tooltip says higher dmg but overall i will havel ower chance of critting and getting lower dps numbers, lets take meteor for a change, it gives more dmg when having cast speed but it is doesnt cast it faster anyway ?

As far as I’m aware, Meteor’s casting animation (the hand-wavey bit) would be quicker, but not the time it takes for a meteor to fall & hit the target.

which shouldnt affect its dmg calculation with almost 10k dmg on dps tooltip

It should though. If it takes 0.5s for the hand-wavey casting animation, then a 1s fall time. If you had 100% cast speed to reduce the casting animation time to 0.25s, that would mean you could pump out twice as many Meteors as if you had 0% cast speed therefore I’d expect the dps tooltip to double. The fact that the damage is then delayed by 1s is neither here nor there.

I wouldn’t worry too much about monolith being too easy, building decent offensive gear is extremely easy right now and most of your progression will be working on defenses to push through higher arena waves and more difficult empowered modifiers
