Hello again, had an interesting idea, sorry they’re so short. But, what if when players get past a certain corruption, reality itself starts to fall apart, glitches and half visible wire frames of things that were once there but now gone.
Then ypu could have a dungeon only accsessible to that certain corr, then inside there would be area that go black and dissapear as you try to make your way through. Then having doors that distort reality further like upside down corridors and creatures.
“Youre not supposed to be here!”
And then theres that one room with all the creaters on it and you can talk to them like i think that was in chrono trigger… anyway. Thats it. (Maybe theres something similar coming already idk well see)
Also maybe you could have ancient/ruined corroded items that have to be restored via a glyph of time or something, the items could look all glitched out.
Or maybe a void knight could equip such items and volitle reversal them back to an original state only while in said mono/dungeon.
I think that is a fun idea that totally fits the whole time travel and corruption themes LE has.
The only thing I disagree with is having a mechanic locked behind a single class. If you make it so that other classes can also do the same thing, then it sounds pretty good.
It would be fine if you made a dungeon for each class, where each has an exlusive mechanic. Though that starts to sound a lot like the hated set dungeons from D3.
They were usually dungeons that had challenges based on the set, like kill x enemies with effect y from skill z. But they were pretty boring and you usually had to do it with less gear otherwise you just insta killed stuff and couldn’t finish it.
It was mostly a potentially good idea that was badly designed.
Maybe a better idea is set items in Last Epoch are so bad you have to run a dungeon to make them better and unlock set crafting for the forge. Lol idk.
