MoF Boss discussion thread [spoilers]

Now that we’ve had a few days and bug fixes I thought it might be a good time to talk about the boss encounters! They’re a staple of any RPG and can make a game resonate with the players long after they stop playing. The new MoF has given a first take on what that experience will be like for LE, so without further a do:

Which one was your favourite encounter?
Which one do you believe is the hardest - either end game or relative to the level/gear?
Which one needs a bit of love with the mechanics?

For me, favourite was Void Shade of Rehyeh as it’s a wake up call even for level 100 builds and makes you think about modifiers going into the fight (avoid cooldown recovery speed and enrage!). Emperor of corpses is fairly straight forward but so easy to get 1 shot and can pick up some nasty modifiers considering the earliest you can verse him is at 25. Formosus definitely needs something more impactful (maybe the patches on the ground are permanent?)

Emperor land dragon is my favorite cause Im obsessed with dragons. Part of why lineage 2 will always be my favorite
Emperor is very hard for melee that domt have movement skill. Werebear was challenging. However rayheh to me i think was the most overall challenging. Modifiers definitely play a part.
Going in as melee against god hunter and the land dragon can be quite difficult with no movement skill. Werebear charge needs to bot be limited to a target.

I love the new bosses they are amazing.

Haven’t died to a Monolith boss yet, though I’ve only fought 5 or 6.

Lvl 100 Dragon one is visually the most impressive one, looks awesome, but was waaay to straight forward for the current “final boss”. He could use 1 or 2 additional mechanics.

Harton’s Husk(The Void/Sea Boss with the 2 Void Worm Adds) was the most confusing fight for me. There is soooo much going on i did no dps for the first few seconds at all because i was afraid getting one shot. Then i figured out all of his abilities do very little damage and i started to play more aggressively. I basically could facetank & spank him down without even moving at the end when i fully commited.
Not sure if that was just because i had good modifiers that don’t boost his damage that much(cant remember which ones i had)
I would like to see his cone thing have a little bit longer preperation time, projectiles in that cone should move a little bit slower and do lethal damage to every build.

The most “fair” and mechanically interesting fights would be Void Rahyeh and God Hunter. I can’t say a bad thing about them. Really fair. I did die to Void Rahyeh once, because i misjudged/misunderstood one of his mechanics at first.(which is totally fine and fair)

Abomination feels like a really good and fair fight for the beginning, not too much going on. Only thing i would like to see, especially since this is the introduction boss fight to MoF, to have the 3 projectiles going outwards and coming back in again to be more telegraphed. Especially the zone where they will come back and explode, because that is the most danerous mechanic of this fight. The orange circle and line thingy didn’t felt that dangerous, but that might be because of my tanky build. But those are telegraphed very well anyway.

EDIT: Also a general observation. All those boss fights feel more like they are pulled straight from some mmo’s dungeon/raid content, which is AWESOME. Devs need to keep on putting such mechanically interesting stuff into the game.
This bosses alone put some of the even more established aRPG’s to shame IMO. Those kind of boss rights might not be fitting for every “typical aRPG”, but it fits perfectly for LE and if they keep that route on each and every boss that is still to come i am very optimistic for a good and diverse future and endgame.
