Mods! Maybe?

Has there ever been any consideration into potentially allowing mods? The game has a full offline mode, which would be perfect for the modding community to play around with, in addition to the seasonal content updates. Would also make for good player retention between seasons. The gameplay loop is phenomenal, and the modding community would be great for testing features that should or should not be added permanently into the game. It’s a thought at least.

I think that during early access one of the devs on livestream said that they don’t care about mods for true offline mode. Logic behind it being that you bought the game, and modding true offline would not have any repercussions for any other player than yourself.

I may remember wrong tho.

Yup, pretty much.

Mods for Last Epoch already exist.

Okay, I did not know this, and now I have a rabbit hole to dive head first into. Thank you!

You’re most welcome.

I believe the official stance is that you can use mods as long as they don’t change the game files nor do they react to the game (meaning, they cause actions in-game due to in-game conditions). So something like the PoE price checker would be fine, something that monitors your health and chugs potions when on low life wouldn’t.

That being said, while in full offline you can pretty much do what you want. They don’t really have a way to monitor it, nor do I think they are too troubled by it.
