Mobs on a string

hello, I am a big fan of this game and where it is going. I have a gripe with modern Arpgs and wanted to simply share some feedback I have about almost every top down arpgs I have played which is a mechanic of the game that feels rather outdated. this is, for example in act 1 should a monster that spotted you in the first section of a map or zone follow you all the way to the end of a zone or map no matter what. there is a couple of design choices here such as yes running past a monster should always add a monster following indefinitely whicvh will stack and indefinitely punish that player. the monster that doesnt give up or get bored or try another tactic infact if u just dont stop moving the monsters follow in a line thats rather COD zombies feeling which I hate. zombies do not just follow forever in these fantasy concepts they will be opportunistic but not always going it feels like a very arcade like mechanic to score points rather than creating a world full of monsters.
that is all.

Fun fact, it used to work like that!

Monsters used to leash to you forever.

This was easily abused by builds with long cooldowns but high burst. they simply pulled the entire end game area mobs then used their abilties to blow up the group.

The way it is now allows you to disengage with monsters you might be unable to handle, as well as preventing the core strat being “run through the linear map collecting all the monsters then use your mob skill on them all.”
