I think it was a success the event that was proposed to play and bring back the desire to play this game, but I think it was a blunder to have a larger pack size of mobs to the level 100 echoes.
These have new modifiers (which are seen with a circle/aura around them) and for some reason that I don’t know they last much longer compared to the other mobs, besides that they don’t generate a reward that is worth it, I consider that this has ruined the game experience because not having a build formed as it should, these mobs kill you in a second, without being able to do anything, generating frustration in the gameplay, that is, I can’t even advance in the game because these mobs are stronger and don’t let me finish the echoes, and I can’t have better items for the same reason, if you think a little, I see that there is a mistake there.
Honestly this makes me not want to return to the game unless this can be fixed, because it does not allow you to progress and takes away the desire to play.
I don’t know if the other players have the same perception as me, but, if the game doesn’t let you progress and the only way is to die all the time, I don’t think that this part of the event has been well thought, or lastly that these are manifested more in high corruptions and not in low corruptions to be able to build the build in a better way without dying 10 times in the attempt.
Honestly, that’s really good feedback that I didn’t consider. These event packs are harder than most echo bosses and can easily wreck you if you’re caught off guard, which just happened to me. They spawned behind me and nuked me before I could realize what happened. Yay glass cannon minion master! If they’re in front of me / between me and my minions I could kill them relatively easily, but if you’re already struggling to clear that echo then the addition of these harder event mobs isn’t going to be beneficial to you. The only real option is to do regular monoliths instead of empowered, but empowered is where the good drops are
I missed these guys in the patch notes. Actually, I probably just forgot about them after reading it but I have been encountering them and I don’t know how I feel.
-To be fair, I am currently mostly playing a Frost Claw/Static Orb sorc build so a lot of things are extra easy anyway and then I run into these portal/circles around them hooligans. I dislike cos it seems out of nowhere but on the other hand, I likey cos it makes me think differently. For instance, I dropped my Focus ability and picked up Black Hole as a sorc cos I cast Black Hole and they all get sucked into it and then my spark charge procs annihilate them.
I am not exactly trying to counter your point though. In every ARPG I have played, a few builds get to cheese everything and most the others have to really struggle. Not sure where this encounter fits, I need to play more classes.
-As an aside, this game is NOT Diablo. You have to truly learn boss mechanics, mob vulnerabilities, deal with things like this, etc. So in a lot of ways, I’m glad it’s not a direct clone and some aspects are harder. Sometimes I am annoyed, sometimes I appreciate.
Well, maybe the meta shifts slightly? You cannot go for glass cannon builds anymore as easy as before. Maybe you need better defenses, more armor? Or choose other classes? I play a Warpath VK at the moment and i shred through 2-3 of these mobs easily at 300 corruption. I dont even have high end gear…
