Minions should follow the MouseCursor and not the Player

title

So they don’t fall behind and engage enemies on the way a little bit earlier than the player.
I can’t imagine why anyone wants to outrun their minions.
Hence, I also think minion movementspeed has to be tied (and always slightly larger) than player movementspeed.

Yeah, maybe. I think some settings for aggressive/defensive would be nice as well. With defensive they would follow you closer (potentially moving in the direction of your cursor) and attack mobs that attack you or get within X distance.

It could potentially be a passive node for any minion masteries as well & give buffs based on which stance the minions are in (defensive gets a hp increase & possibly a chance to taunt, offensive get a move/attack speed buff, kinda like the PoE minion supports they added in a few leagues ago).

i agree with llama, a change like that would be very welcome to summoners in LE. but for now, using A to direct your minions is pretty effective and actually gives you a greater degree of control over them than poe has. it takes some adjusting to get used to it, and i’ve considered rebinding it to a less awkward key but i don’t play summoners enough to bother with it. just thought i’d mention that feature in case OP didn’t know about it.

Agree with both of you. Some behaviour settings like in GD worked really well there and are probably the best way to help out minion builds. The Minion Attack Command is already a good feature like @VapingNeckbeard mentioned and i have been thinking about a Convocation skill like in PoE for some time. But i don’t know if this is a good idea since it would take a skill slot away from your build just to recall all minions. You could definitly work around the skilltree for a skill like that to make it more interesting and give certain buffs to the player and minions.

This is how it works in Wolcen and it’s fantastic, your minions are in front of you basically all the time and first in combat.

Maybe having some stance option, where they could either follow cursor or you would be good.

Glad to hear they finally fixed the minion AI problems they had.
I always dreamed of a way to controll both the behaviour and formation of minions in an arpg.
Like giving the skeletons an agressive line formation in front of the char. Flame Wraiths an agressive line formation behind the skeletons for range attacks. Mage skeletons a circle or back up line formation and the golem a defensive meat shield command always standing next to the char. And they always go to their position wherever you point with your cursor. Something like this you know… maybe i just played too much age of empires back in the days😂
