Minion behavior bad?

I may have made thread about this before during early access, but since some time has passed since then, I’ll make another thread.

So… uh… does anyone think minion behavior is kind of bad. I watch them run off screen all the time, leaving my relatively weak character face enemies alone (since stats go to make minions stronger rather than me).

I believe the minions agro mobs at least twice the range you would do alone.

Something spawns behind you, like the assassin skeletons or something, and they go fight them. There exists the minion command button, but its really unresponsive. Unless you can point your minions towards something durable, they will just run back to random directions (usually not the one you are going to). They also seem to react to that button reaaally slowly. I have watched them go some direction at extreme speed, then they kind of slow down to a halt when I press the button and only then turn around to go where I directed them.

In general I would describe minion behavior that they seem to try choose direction where to go rather than player. That should not happen, I think.

I have other complains about minions too, such as trying to get your dead companions up midfight, is asking trouble, but lets keep this to the subject of minion behavior.

Yes, the minions AI is really clunky.
There are some nodes on some skills (maybe even items?) that can make minions focus whatever you’re focusing, but they’re really niche and limited.

Other than that, the only way I can get myself to play minions in LE is if I’m willing to add “press A” in my skills rotation, mostly when I input new movement command/skill. The A button forces the minions to move in that direction, and since they generally focus their closest enemies, it works fine making them focus who I need them to. But yeah, it’s an extra button you’ll have to be constantly pressing.
