Just my two cents but I think there should be a rework regarding the minimum level of gear in high level areas.
Currently I’m doing empowered monoliths with 200+ corruption and the amount of low level trash unique gear dropping is just incredibly high.
I’m talking about gear such as
-Shroud of Obscurity
-Prism Wraps
-Yrun’s Wisdom
-The Claw/Fang
-Doublet of Onos Tull
Basically anything less than level 45 should not be dropping in the end game. It would be better to just drop exalted gear that at least has the possibility of being usable.
As it stands, the frequency of finding usable loot in high corruption, empowered monoliths feels like a waste of time.
There’s one issue with this tho - legendary potential.
Lower level items are more likely to have more of it and the only thing that directly increases the chances of high(er) LP is area level.
I’d agree with you if any of that low level gear had any LP. I’ve gotten about 30+ low level unique gear and they almost never have LP. Maybe ten percent of the time they have 1 LP. Overwhelmingly they have zero.
Add a RNG rework for Legendary Potential for low level gear to the list as an alternative.
A sample size of 30 is regarding about each of the low level uniques, individually.
I have about 12 pages of uniques in my stash, which have been filled and sold off quite a few times.
In 227 hours in Last Epoch, I have seen only a single 3LP, and a single 4LP unique across all types of gear. It should be higher for extremely low level gear at a minimum, especially in high corruption, empowered monoliths.
To be honest, I havent seen any difference in gear rarity between 0 corruption and 200+ corruption in EM.
That’s because there’s this misconception floating around that, ‘RNG = challenge and immersion’. The nested levels of RNG is this game are so very frustrating, and a pain-point for many.
Some of the most sought after uniques are low level ones lol.
Exsanguinous is a body armor that enables low life ward, huge for 2k+ corruption pushing blade dancers, low life axe bears etc.
oh yeah speaking of that, Cleaver solution a fantastic funky build item that is extremely powerful is a mid level 20’s item. Guess we dont need that in end game despite it being a mostly end game item!
Item level =/= power level when it comes to uniques. This is a fact in PoE and many other arpgs as well. if there is no base item level scaling, then its drop level has no real baring on its powerlevel/usefulness.
Hands of judgement drop at mid 20’s as well, and are on a basetype that is a high level base! crusader gloves iirc are the highest level glove base. A white one requires level 64 to use.
Hands of judgement however bypasses this and only requires level 24,
So no, big disagree, you are just seem to have a misconceived notion that level = power.
