Minimizing game breaks almost everything

Hello!

Sent this via the in-game bug report, but because part of the bug was I lost access to the menu when pressing escape, I no longer was able to use the built-in screenshot feature, but I used print screen to get it before I exited the game and have uploaded the image to my wp site.

This is a pretty glaring bug that forces the player to restart the game as it becomes almost unplayable, which is why I am reporting it here as well with the screenshot.

While the playing the game, I needed to minimize (I play in full-screen mode) to check an email. Because I have the Win key turned off while playing (via Razer’s software), I had to ctrl+alt+delete to open task manager. After finishing up with my email, I clicked on the game to bring it back up, and encountered a whole host of both visual and mechanical UI problems.

1. The camera was zoomed in about 2x normal.
2. The HUD was completely gone - no minimap, no spellbar, nothing.
3. Game menu was inaccessible - pressing escape made the sound effect for bringing up the menu, but nothing showed up, and clicking where buttons should have been had no effect.
4. Loot names did not show (but the item and its color did).
5. Loot could not be picked up.

Here is the screenshot showing my missing HUD and the item name not showing and me standing over it trying to pick it up.

I have a theory my game resolution (1080p) being set differently than my desktop resolution (4k, but zoomed in 200% using Windows display settings).

That might explain the zoomed in camera (and the missing HUD could be the camera was zoomed in too close to see), but it doesn’t explain the rest, especially since I could still play (thankfully, as I had gone quite a ways from the last waypoint) and click on enemies correctly, but could not pick up items and it doesn’t explain the missing game menu, as that shows up in the middle of the screen.

Some info on my system:

PC: Custom-built desktop
OS: Win10 Pro
Processor: Intel i5-8400 2.8GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (12GB vRAM version)
RAM: 32GB
OS is on a 256GB SS drive, most storage (including Steam and all games) are on a 3TB Hard Disk.

I have run into this (or a very similar) bug, and I found that if I just tab out again, everything is fixed. Like if I use ctrl+alt+del and open my browser, I come back and my health/mana/skills are gone and I can’t open the menu. But if I then hit ctrl+alt+del again, everything comes back and I can play the game as normal. My camera doesn’t zoom in though, that part’s weird. Anyway, definitely needs fixing, but maybe try minimizing again and seeing if that fixes any of it?

Hey! Weirdly enough, that does work - for everything except the camera zoom in, which, like I said, I’m guessing has to do with my desktop resolution environment not being the same as the game’s. Thank you for that workaround, a lot less annoying than having to completely exist the game and load it all up again, especially if you’re in a dungeon or something.
