After the refresh I decided to play MG for the first time. Although a lot of things feel smooth (and actually much easier than CoF), there are a few things could be improved drastically. I will not focus on minor things, but points which I believe would improve QoL a lot…

I do not understand why there are so many reputation-based restrictions of buying stuff. All items have already level restrictions, so you can only wear them if you have a certain level. I also get that you can first buy rares, then uniques, then exalteds, then legendaries. But all these additional steps to buy… weapons, armor, boots… it just feels like you wanted to make a similar way of improvement compared to CoF. This feels weird though… just make a few steps (rare, unique, exalted, legendary) and thats it. Oh, and dont let us grind too long to get the required reputation.

I find the number of vendors annoying… especially for price checking… you have a wand, a mace and a spectre for sale. And you have to visit 3 vendors to chech prices… just have ONE vendor where you can pick your category from a dropdown list. Or at least group them in “Weapons”, “Wearables”, “Accessoirs”, and “Idols”.

The filter function is quite ok. But a free text search would be great. I.e. searching the name of a unique. Further, it would be great to see a filter function for unique implicits.

Items appear with ridiculously high prices such as 1.500.000.000 gold. This is clearly kind of troll and just litters the lists. It would be great to have a kind of penalty for high rocketing prices, if they stay too long on that list. I.e. you could have to pay 0.1% of the asked gold per listed day. Typical items up to a few million gold would just cost a few thousand gold per day, easy to handle. But in the case above it would cost 1.5 million gold per day… easy way to “get rid of spam prices”.

Same thing happens with the zero gold items. There shouldnt be any items on the market below the standard vendor price. There are quite some LP3 Items with zero gold cost. Might be nice for alts, but hey… a bit of work should be done to get some of those items.
There are actually several ways to tackle point 4 and point 5. My favorite would be to have automatically dropping prices. I.e. you list an item for 1.000.000 gold. Every 3 days it loses 10% of its original asking price. This would mean that the item is listed for 900.000 after 3 days, 800000 after 6 days and so on. after 30 days the item ends up at 0 gold and is removed from the game automatically, sending standard vendor price to the owner of the item. To avoid “abuse” of de-listing and re-listing it would be great if the item can be relisted only once or twice… this would keep the market clean and relevant throughout the cycle.
What are your thoughts about that? Comments?
