Merchant Guild Grind Is Ridic

None of that or the rest of your statements meet with reality when you are dusting your favor for literally 0 gold and 0 gain like a mongoloid instead of buying or selling like a normal person.

This reminds me of the bike meme where someone is riding a bike and on the next frame, they are shoving a stick in the spokes while they ride (This will be the listing things for 0 gold) and then the last frame is the rider crashing and complaining (that would be Complaining about the rank 8 grind).

You are essentially refreshing prophecies until your favor hits 0 just to spend it. Itā€™s quite the worst, most useless, most self-sabotaging thing you can do.

Of course the game is gonna feel boring and the grind feel bad when you are literally refusing to interface with the millions of items that the other hundreds of thousands of players are doing.

This would be the equivalent of hiding all items on the loot filter then complaining that nothing is dropping. Seriously, there are a lot of items that people are buying, none of them need to be commonly found 1-2 lp uniques.

Rank 1-4 allows you to comfortably farm high corruption empowered monoliths (and no Iā€™m not playing an Acolyte). It is a colossal skill issue and drastically overwhelming lack of game knowledge to even have this point of view, nonetheless complain as if you have authority on the topic.

Let me educate you on the basics since you are either not playing Merchants and theorycrafting on a forum or you are essentially filtering away all of your loot and blaming the game for not having loot drop.

Rank 1 opens entry level gear and the ability to gather any and all rare shards in the game buying yellow items and shattering them.

Rank 2 unlocks set items which are a lot more useful than you think, Iā€™m being carried by 3 set items in 300+ corruption.

Rank 3 unlocks LP 0 uniques which allow you to start your build off without having to farm monolith bosses for hours, days and weeks.

Rank 4 unlocks Idols. You can complete a MONTH worth of idol progression in MINUTES in the Merchants Guild.

What are you doing? You are theorycrafting why MG is terrible while you are destroy your gear for 0 gold so you can waste your precious Favor currency to sabotage your own progress and then blame the game for having a bad grind.

Level 90-92 gets you rank 6.
Level 93-95 gets you rank 7.
Level 97-98 gets you rank 8.
Rank 9 and 10 are meaningless because youā€™ve practically beaten the game when you hit rank 8. GG

To anyone joining late, please heed my wisdom.

BUYING GEAR WILL INCREASE YOUR REPUTATION BECAUSE YOU ARE SPENDING FAVOR

LISTING GEAR AT ANY PRICE WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME REPUTATION IMMEDIATELY, YOUR THING DOES NOT NEED TO SELL FOR YOU TO GAIN THE REPUTATION.

SPENDING FAVOR = GAINING REPUTATION

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR FAVOR, IT IS A PRECIOUS RESOURCE AND YOU NEED TO MANAGE IT PROPERLY. IF YOU DONā€™T YOUā€™LL FIND YOURSELF NEEDING TO FARM 20-28K FAVOR PER LP3/LP4 PIECE AND 4K PER EXALTED BASE LATER ON.

this is enough of a reason why you so full of it, and saying crap like i have authority, while coming at me with your irrelevance arguments or points, you just arguing for sake of disagreeing.

People filter out crap for a reason this just goes to show exactly whats wrong with what you saying

Your are so detached from how ARPG works and how last epoch works, i know how create a loot filter perfectly fine, i donā€™t need be educated about basics of anything.

Most items are filtered out for good reason because they crap, no one wants to see a T1 roll item showing up at lvl 70.

i got about 15mil gold with near perfect GG gear sure thing bud i have no clue about anything, i guess my life with Diablo 1 all the way to path of exile makes me complete uneducated person and some how i have ā€œloot filterd all the itemsā€ idk what the hell you on since no one is talking about loot filtering.

i bet your type of person that sits there reading every rare and blue item dropped in a mono
You just trolling at this point.

Mh, do you mean your Character ā€œFatalistSummonā€, the 95 Necromancer?

Yep that is 1 character i have nice level 88 Kreyn

I mean, some nice pieces, but thatā€™s far from near perfect GG gear. The boots, yeah, GG on that

I view it near perfect in the context that its 90% better then what most people have or reached, most people donā€™t have it in them stick long enough to get to LPing gear at all, i by no means got perfect gear, just near, RaizQT is good example of perfect necro gear.

Maybe, just maybe, being a bit humbler would be more suited.
There is much to be left desired with your items.

Cool.

From my experience, i am rank 7 in CoF, and i not gotten a single useful gear drop in the past 6 days of farming monolith for 8 hours a day. CoF is only as good as your luck is, or if your running a build with no easy to get gear.

I am running pyro affliction warlock with high ward generation, aka i only have 3 uniques out of all the uniques in game that are useful for me, while if i rolled a mage, i would be clearing corruption 500 as it is easy to gear.

Both the factions need to have their rep grind reduced in 10-50X. Fact i cant max it in 40+ hours, means no wau casual who plaus 1 hour a day would be able to hit rank 10 within 3 months

Sounds like a cool idea for a build, i had alot necro stuff drop during my rogue play.

Realistically all you need is Rank 8 and over the league time thatā€™s very easy. The last 2 ranks are for the true blasters of the game.

It needs to be adjusted for sureā€¦ I shouldnā€™t be able to play for several hours a day and not gain a level

Letā€™s compare it to the ā€œSeasonal Journeyā€ from other games (10 Ranks to level vs usually 5-6 Chapters, right?)

Do you expect to finish each of those chapters in a single play session?
Or do you expect that, with some time investment, you complete it over a few weeks?

Seasonal Journeys on other games have such low impact that I dont even pay attention to them and they tend to be just there to support pay to win.

Buying Exalted is a fairly key component to trading; trading not generally being walled behind any type of progression. I can understand why they do the ranks, but Iā€™m already in the 90ā€™s timeline on my second HC Runemaster (the first died to lagon in mono- well passed already getting Exalted drops) This character has been getting Exalted drops for a while and Iā€™m now getting several per area and yet Iā€™m still not even close to being able to buy them (and Iā€™m in level 6!) - If your trying to keep lower players from getting exalted drops before they could get them from a drop fineā€¦ but why am I a week after getting exalted drops ā€” my inventory filling up fast with them ā€” yet Iā€™m still not able to buy them?

Iā€™m just saying it should take less not that it should be easy to get it. It needs tuning that shouldnā€™t be surprising itā€™s still very early in the games lifetime. If it was 75% exp needed or if favor gave a 3:1 ratio instead of a 2:1 ratio this would feel a lot better for most people IMO.

Iā€™m also not a person that wants to see a cycle sizzle up dry a couple days into it like it was a Diablo III season (thatā€™s be generous) but @airowird I assume this is part of your concern. Trading is more typically an end game activity but Exalted has more than 1 tier so they could lock tier 7 behind a further Merchants guild rank. If the end game is focused around trading then you got a significant portion of the playerbase (Circle of Fortune) that doesnā€™t get end game. It should be a part of it for traders but that can naturally progress by people gaining wealth over the season and does not needed to be gated so thoroughly. Iā€™m hoping for more end game pushing activities in the future to provide depth to cycles. By the way I always liked pushing Greater Rifts in Diablo III (pushing Exploding Palm Monk was some of my favorite times in any arpg)- I like that there is an arena in a similar activity - it was the endless paragon grind that got boring there.

P.S.

Honestly, Iā€™m mostly CoF and still Rank 8 after almost hitting 100 and heavily investing in Propecies for my gear before. So I have no gain in the MG, Iā€™m just looking at it from an outside view.

it was originally both buy & sell per rank. At the last minute, it was made to ā€œsell everythingā€, but thatā€™s something I donā€™t understand.

Why not make it a ā€œbuy anything, rank to sellā€ ?

Yes, Wallet Warriors would buy their full set instantly, but they would anyway.
Goldfarmers on the other hand, would atleast not be able to sell anything they find directly, the bot would need to exist long enough to cash in on selling items to increase their gold/hour. They would effectively be unable to add their drops into the ā€˜legitā€™ pool and be stuck on pure gold drops.

For the legit players, the higher Ranks gives you a nice reward, by suddenly unlocking an influx in gold from gathered items, while at the same time keeping cheap lower rank items on Bazaar from levelling rep. The rank then means better gear income, either through prophecies / double drops, or better gold income to then buy stuff.

But COF is still way worse.

I never imagined I would see a trading system worse than PoE but a week here made me miss PoE. everything here is just and only a huge waste of time, nothing is made to be fun just to be time-gate

Hey, look at the bright sideā€¦ at least you can buy the items you want. On COF you are at the mercy of RNG the entire time. I struggled to find/craft even decent rares. My gear is mostly trash. Only reason Iā€™ve managed to get this far is because I had some help from people to clear the bosses in the story and the regular monoliths and I lucked out on 1 item that unlocked a busted build.

But COF is still way worse.

It really is.

Yeah I meanā€¦ CoF shouldnā€™t be as good as bazaarā€¦ you have to spend time dealing with the bazaar which is not as fun. It almost canā€™t be as good, what can be as good as I can get whatever I need specifically. CoF is more of the self found ā€œfunā€ route the way Iā€™ve looked at it, its more of the way you want to play rather than something thatā€™s supposed to be even.

Honestly, you say CoF is way worse- Maybe CoF is better because if you compare the SSF route from this game compared to any other game you get much more rewards because this is the only game that genuinely rewards solo play. Like you compare trading in this vs PoE (I havent tried COF) I assume it feels like slightly less of an advantage to trade in this game vs ssf. In fact the bazaar could be set up a lot more user friendly in many aspects.

[edit] Did anyone expect that CoF would be on par with trading? Do you know how much ridiculous amounts of loot would have to drop to make it the same as someone dedicating to trade. They are different Leagues imo.
