Before 0.9 there was somewhat of a memory leak in the game, it meant you’d have to restart the game before doing a big arena push or something.
In 0.9 I have to restart the game every 1-2 hours, depending on if i travel out of monoliths or not. Travelling from monoliths to campaign (arena, dungeons etc…), will have a drastic effect on ram useage, adding 1-2gb more useage alone. This means unless you have 64gb+ of ram, you can quickly run out of memory in a very normal play session.
Good morning AuroraClaire,
I have a bug with the memory dump on the game.
I haven’t found a solution yet but I’m testing some things…
For information, I did the test from a windows 10 Atlas
And
Windows 10 pro
Processor: Intel i7-5820K
memory: 16gb ddr4 (3200)
video card: nvidia 2080 super
explanation:
about 50 to 70 minutes of play my memory is saturated.
game starts with 4000mb~
and rises to around 10000mb after 1 hour.
And the game crashes as well as my browser and other applications since the memory is full.
Everyones getting memory leak problems, it’s not hardware specific, hardware just determines how long until you have to reset. Someone I know with 64gb still had to reset, just after 6-7 hours.
My in-game friends don’t have the memory leak issue and the memory dump is done correctly.
I had to restart the game every hour during our gaming sessions
a friend plays on a toaster with 8gb of memory and doesn’t have the problem.
Wait and see !
i have the same issues as OP. Curiouslz i have a 2080 super too, but it should not be related to the video card. i have 32GB RAM and also have to restart teh game after a few hours and it makes it very hard for streaming as one runs out of memory a lot earlier.
For what it’s worth, I can make the memory leak happen faster by keeping 2-3 Firefox tabs up behind it, alt-tab frequently, discord up (but minimized), and listen to a podcast (with poddr) at the same time. I’ve also got an nvidia card (1050ti), but I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone on AMD cards having issues with memory leaks? The monolith does seem to make the leak happen faster, as well. (Same with the End of Time area.) I’m also using the native linux client in offline mode.
