Melee Feels Clunky

Hey!

I just started playing, and although i’m having a lot of fun with my beastmaster, something feels very off with melee compared to other similar games.

Attacking mobs in melee is clunky and extremely frustrating.
I have “move to enemy in melee” option on, but it doesn’t seem to solve to issue of my character keep hitting the air when the target dies and i want to move to another target, or if my target moves even by an inch… my character will just hold still and swing the air.

This means i need to constantly click and reposition myself, which gets pretty annoying after awhile.

Is there any fix to this, or am i doomed to playing only ranged, because this is really getting tiresome?

my advice is just wait until they fix the current bug thats caused them to remove the left click as a move/attack button and its currently locked into being move only. its a game changer for melee

I hope it’s a bug and that they didn’t just remove it.

its a confirmed bug that theyre addressing and the feature is disabled while they fix the problem. theyre dealing with a lot at the moment, so it may be a bit before it gets fixed, but it should change in the near future. just hang on! enjoy the ranged builds for now, and leave the melee ones for later is all

Melee feels clunky well beyond left/right click options. Delay on traversal abilities and endless ground-target damage spam really exposes the jankiness of combat. It becomes nearly intolerable in Empowered Monoliths where you’re just dodging telegraphs over and over again until you get one-shot trying to attack something. Improvements will come, though, i’m sure.

i played a necro in beta and am now playing a mage, so I didn’t realize this. Seems like a huge thing for them to overlook considering that 3 of the 5 classes are melee based.
