Melee attack point of origin not moved when character is moved

Playing online.
Using Rive, didn’t test with other abilities.
Character was moved away by Winged Carrion while continuously attacking with Rive. The attack’s effect was still originating from the character’s previous location, and hitting the enemies around the original location.
Type of moving enemy probably doesn’t matter, noticed the same thing with Exiled mages when they move character away by teleporting to its location.
