Mechanics question

I looked a bit around the forums and found some CA (crit avoidance) and Less damage from crits threads, but my question was not to be found. So!

If I have an enemy blinded (50% less crit chance), would 50% CA suffice?

If I assume 100% crit chance is the max, blinded enemies should be reduced to 50% max. So would 50% CA null incoming crits, or reduce to 25%?

Thanks in advance, travelers.

No, it would not reduce the number of reduced crits to 0.

The enemies chance to crit and your crit avoidance will be calculated separately.

Basically with your numbers you would get crit 4 times less likely on average, But the critical strike avoidance formula will only be applied if the enemy is actually criting you.

So with your numbers an enemy with 5% Crit Chance (which is the base crit of every enemy) and enemy would have 2,5% crit chance due to blind.

If an enemy would actually crit you, the system will use your CSA for a chance to reduce that incoming crit to a normal hit.

Which would lead to enemy criting you 4x less likely compared to the 5%

That all makes sense. Thank you, kindly!
