Hello. as im preparing for the official launch and trying to come up with a cool build id like to play I came across with an unfortunate situation where two skills id love to use together are both tied to different masteries.
the combo would have been Bear form (druid only) + summon raptor (beastmaster only)
First of all with bearform you can give a massive 200% increased damage to your minions for 8 seconds after you use Maul.
secondly I would have further specialiced my bearform to trigger upheavals with maul with further emphasis on applying bleeds.
with all that I would love to use Summon raptor as a side kick and make use of all the bonus damage against bleeding enemies + even more damage per nearby bleeding enemy etc.
but since its impossible, as of now, to make that combo happen I would love to see more minions get damage bonuses against bleeding enemies similiar to the raptor to open up potential build options.
I think it’s rather important to keep mastery skills specific to their masteries. It gives a mastery more identity, removing it would remove more reason to be a specific class. But also thematically not every class needs every skill. Marksman doesn’t need Dancing Strikes, for instance.
Limitation also breed creativity within the systems they limit.
Aren’t wolves or squirrels also interacting with bleeding enmies?
Well a lot of stuff changed in LE in the past. people wanted skill interactions and dmg conversions and whatnot for a lot of skills and masteries. We already lost a ton of idendity for classes and masteries this way. I hope we don’t get to the point that Rift reached pretty early on and end up in a system where we mindlessly only go for the best mathematical outcome.
On the other hand I’m sure there will be more minion related items that maybe offer more bleed possibilities to minions.
im not familiar with Squirrels specifically, other than what i heard they are beyond busted right now. I did play some basic physical wolves with swipe proccing the spirit wolves but atleast that build had nothing to do with bleed.
Summon Bear does get a stacking damage multiplier per bleed on the enemy so i quess thats as close as it gets to the raptor specific stuff
as a side note when i look at druid and the skills it has. Bear/werebear form is such a basic thing for druids since forever that it doesnt really feel like a mastery specific skill… if anything Swarmblade is unique and ofc you cant get access to it anyway if you havnt chosen the druid mastery because of how deep it is in the skill tree, but i could see Spriggan Form take the mantle as druid specific skill and put bear form in the 5 points unlock instead.
