Mastery Changing

Switching masteries was added to the game and I think this is fantastic however I came across one problem with it that I think should be addressed in my opinion. The COST. If you level up because a build you want to play isn’t for leveling and switch and find out you hate the way it plays and you are at higher levels the cost to switch is crazy. I was 62 and it cost 90k which was already most of my gold. This was even a build that didn’t require anything special but I hated how it played. Then had to farm roughly 20k to switch back. The cost of switching at higher levels will completely take some of the more casual gamers, my working self included, out of the game because of not having enough gold and/or time to switch not to mention having to relevel the skills though this issue isn’t as bad as the gold cost, and god forbid someone decide to try for the 3rd spec to find out they don’t like it either or just don’t have to gear to make it work yet. If your a more casual gamer/working/parent this is a nightmare and has even left me not wanting to play because of how much time I already put into the character but am nowhere near the gold cost to switch back. I enjoy this game a lot and it feels bad to not want to play it because of something like this. I feel like players not playing for whatever reason can’t be good for any game in general. I feel like capping the cost at like 10k is a lot for more casual gamers but still way more doable without making people want to stop playing because they don’t want or have the time to grind the gold out. This is just one small idea and I’m sure there are much better ideas out there but I thought this was a good thought/idea overall to be considered. To be clear I am very aware this is a casual gamer problem and is probably a non issue for people with more time to enjoy the game.

That would be because you’re not supposed to use mastery respec as an optimal leveling strategy.
If the build you want to play isn’t good for leveling, you can use a build in the same mastery that is better for leveling. Every mastery has at least one. That way you don’t have to respec your mastery when switching to your build and still have enough gold to respec if you don’t like the mastery.

Mastery respec is there so you have a way out if you don’t like the mastery you chose, not to create optimal leveling strategies.

I couldn’t find a leveling build. Probably just me since I don’t have too much time for research and after about 15 mins will just start playing since I don’t have a lot of free time. I figured this was probably a limited problem but I still think this would open the game up more for casual players with less time. Thanks for pointing out the thought process.
