Marrow Shards + Bone Prison

I run a Lich build using Marrow Shards and Bone Curse/Bone Prison.

The Marrow Shards are piercing and go through both enemies and allies.
But Bone Prison sometimes block the Marrow Shards stopping them for piercing.
Its nor always it happens, its like it only have 50% or something to pierce it?

Also i tied to take the note were you can hit your minions, and its the same with or without that node.
