Market suggestions

Hi. There are currently two things that bother me with the trading interface, regardless of lacking functionality.

First, the default search bar (before pressing “more”) shows item base choice, but not affix. These should be switched. There are in the order of a dozen bases, but several hundred possible affixes, thousands counting min levels, so it is clearly more sensible to filter by affix first.

Second, when searching for an item, the results come ordered by “newest first” by default. I don’t understand this choice! Every single time, I have to select “low to high”. I suggest either changing the default, or keeping the user choice in memory.

These were the “trivial” suggestions. Now I would like to suggest some things that may not be as simple to implement. Or rather point out issues, as I don’t always have a pertinent suggestion.

Mainly, I find it very hard to find items with the rolls I’m looking for. Let’s say I search for + health idols. Now I have to sift through 50 pages of randomly priced idols looking for that perfect +30 or something close. Moreover, the information is either under “mosaic” format with about 6 pieces of information per “page”, or in compact list format, but then I have to hover each item individually to see the stat. Both are pretty inefficient !

A possible solution (that would satisfy me) is for the list format to show information that has been filtered for. Let me explain. Let’s say I selected two affixes and filtered for nothing else, say + fire damage and + x% increased fire damage on weapons. Now the list shows “Name of item” | x (x0-x1 (range)) | y (y0 - y1(range)) or perhaps “Name of item” | x (i (level)) | y (j (level)). There are up to 4 (5) possible affixes so this should fit in a line. Notice I suggest showing only the numerical values, as the user knows what those fit into. If it is not clear which order the affixes are in, there can be a column legend. Now, let’s say we also filtered for minimum legendary potential, then this should show as well. Etc.

Another possibility, or another useful feature, would be to add roll filters. But these aren’t part of loot filters so I don’t know how feasible this would be. What I mean is something like, select affix, select either minimum roll in absolute value, or as percent in range (e.g. roll of 50 for a range of 25 - 100 would be 33%). This would be nice for intrinsic stats as well.

EDIT: How could I forget, the inventory. Currently, you can have the inventory open, but only if you pressed I before opening the market interface. It would be nice if either the market interface included the inventory properly (no need to open an close) or, simpler, if you could open and close the invo without closing market.

I’d like to add another:

  • When searching for affixes, any keystroke other than esc should go straight to the search box without having to first select it

i would like to see some kind of quick search feature for the item in your inventory or something like that, im always spending like an hour searching for prices of items of the things i have and its such a time sink for no reason
