In the latest announcements, EHG said the next season will not be coming until March 26. This feels somewhat similar with a year waiting for PoE1’s boat league to end. However, considering so many Ls EHG has made recently. This 4-month-to-go waiting is extra exhaustive. Many people, include streamers, were expecting the new release to take place somewhere in January…

On the bright side, I hope this 4-month period gives them amber time to polish whatever they are cooking. They desperately need a huge W this time.
Do people have nothing yet to do? Besides games? Everything will be fine. They will hire everyone who is needed, form a team and the speed will increase. By the way, the time is illusion, even the nature doth not have it, only processes.
I would have liked to have had the next season earlier but we get what we get. I’ll be playing other games in the interim.
I think this is why LE isn’t profitable. People tend to purchase supporter packs at the start or near the start of a season. With it being so long between seasons you aren’t bringing people back frequently enough to make any money.
Chris Wilson had stated that being consistent with the timing of their releases was one of the most important things they did the get PoE off the ground and making money. EHG just can’t seem to get this down at the moment.
It was obvious. It’s the snails pace I was counting on. I wish them to take their time and to deliver quality content. That’s worth much more then throwing out bad stuff just because people can’t wait a few days. On top of it I won’t be suprised if the season collides with the next PoE2 season again.
Yeah, it’s very likely, and the argumentation of ‘not colliding with PoE’ won’t ever work anyway.
They got a 2 month cycle, any little delay will mess the whole situation up anyway. EHG got to provide a decent product overall or they’ll simply not do well, that’s all they need.
I personally don’t think Cycle 4 will do it… 5 might, 6 potentially with the expansion. Hopes are there but my trust in it is miniscule.
I’m a bit sad and I don’t think it will be that awesome to me. First of all the engine isn’t that awesome for this kind of game. The art style feels like a dead end to me. Doubbeling down on the void style isn’t cutting it for me.
The part I’m most intrested in is the balancing part. Sadly I’ll belive it when it is there because everyone right now should know that balancing isn’t a trong suit of EHG at all. I hope they take their time and get everything done without becoming a bigger joke for myself.
I get it some people love the game and I’m realy happy for everyone who is in love with LE and has the best time of their life. My hope is diminished and right now I guess there are better chances I can do 100 push-ups in a row before I like LE as much as I liked it back in the day.
Not looking forward to doing the campaign yet again and then just pushing corruption. Its getting stale. LE is losing to other games in the things to do department Esp after D4 expansion comes out.
Also hate that the placed maps have so many restrictions in what you can do and what works with what. Just let us have some fun and open it up a bit.
This game is hemmoraging players from bad news lately, no communication, long periods of waiting, and games repetitiveness.
We waited 9 months for season 2. It’s very unlikely they’re going to repeat the success of the second season. From the roadmap and announcement we see that there’s nowhere nearly as much new seasonal content as in the second season. It looks as shallow as Season 3: Omen Windows = Breach and item corruption = Vaal. Problem - like in season 3 - there’s nothing new to do with your increased power. Breach happens in the monolith as random areas. Maybe we get a new Breach echo. Unless those Omens have something interesting going for it, are highly repeatable and challenging with good direct drop rewards, this is will be another disappointment season and dead after a weekend.
EHG is probably bogged down by porting to PS5, the final 2 campaign chapters and implementing useless Echo Chains (these are just the same random mono’s we know and have been doing for years but 3 in a row now. So inventive… Somebody in Reddit must have complained about the return to the reward area after each mono).
My thoughts on this delay is that…I start to trust em less and less. They were supposed to release the new season around the date of D4/PoE2 season release and they did not and that was smart as that is the competition that will crush them no doubt but…why delay the release for 20 years and somehow guess what…release it around the same time when PoE 1 season comes out.
My theory here is that they had jack shit ready to release for december and that was their excuse of not doing it and why they delay it AGAIN so much. They are in no position to keep delaying season as if they have been around for as long as PoE and have their success as well. Keep failing with this and even players who will most likely come back anyway like me will eventually stop showing up.
Also yeah as you say that they have more time to polish stuff up but given their track record the only thing they might polish are more bugs/issues in the game with another lame generic mechanic.
Either way I will still most likely play the season hell even buy one of the new supporter packs but I am not that ignorant to glaze the game or the devs for this. What they are doing is kinda dumb and should not be happening. This season needs to add like 25% more content to the game or some shit to not get the same Diablo treatment “Same event different color” aka “Another LE season just another random bs that I will forget about in a week”.
I would be so disappointed to find myself enjoying D4 more than LE because after D4s last season I actually think I would rather play their seasons instead of LEs if they are to release them around the same time. Best thing about D4 getting better is the proof that games can improve in todays day and age…even Blizzards despite the fact that it took them 3 years to make something somewhat original after season 1 and even this season just reuses the assets they already had.
So yeah my thoughts are “They should not fail with this season (back of my mind thinks they will anyway and all the money/new hires they got wont mean shit even down the road cause they still need to give me hope they can do better not keep degrading the game as they fill it with forgettable mechanics) but I will 100% still play and have fun in my way as I expect the game to die or go fully offline in 2-3 years if they do not make huge changes/fixes every single season”
