Runes of shattering are key part of the game, having to delete an item in the process makes it one of my favourite crafting mechanics so far.
Currently its fearly easy to overcome the “shortage” of these runes by simply “town hopping”.
Visit Vendor A, buy runes, go to Vendor B buy runes, go back to A, repeat until you are satisfied with the amount of runes you have.
While this may not be initially intended to work this way, i think runes of shattering really should be buyable infinitely from the vendor as it is a main ressource and having a loading screen within is kinda really annoying and doesn´t add anything positive to the gameplay.
An alternative would be to make the vendor refreshable, just like the gambler. This way there is also a small gold dump within, instead of a time dump with porting from town to town
I feel this should stay as is or maybe get slight tweeks as to quantity that can show at the vendor. I don’t believe the intension is that one can just shatter as much as possible in order to have spammable amounts of shards to try and craft bis items.
I think this is probably the right move as well. I’d probably always make it a minimum of 4 right now on refresh and maybe go up to 8 available. I also think the idea of a refresh after a mono (or maybe specific types of monos) wouldn’t be too ‘broken.’
I agree is a bit of a nuisance, up to empowered, I usually stock up on these runes to get those rare affixes in quantities I’m comfortable (usually 15+), even some rares I don’t need on my build so I can chaos them away.
Currently its absolutely possible to stack up a couple 100 runes, by simply town hopping from shop to shop.
So idk. this doesn´t seem intended, i agree. But its here, and ppl very likely “abuse” it currently as is.
I don´t think there is a problem with having infinite shattering whatsoever. You loose the item in the process, so why not? This is already a win-loose situation.
Some alternative could be to have a npc which shatters all items you give him? And you pay some gold for that therefor or something similar?
I don´t think that it would be “broken” to have infinite shattering whatsoever, as you can´t do anything with the shattered modifiers except crafting, which is also limited due to the forging potential.
Yeah, you only need two towns with armor shop and you’re good to go, but is an unnecessary nuisance as I said, loading zones over and over to say, buy 20 runes for a shattering season, is not great to deal with.
Well the again: RoS are awesome and worth a lot but making them available more will devalue them greatly as well as all shards you get from shattering. I rather have rarer RoS then shatter rates reduced what will be the reaction on making them more available.
