Make Mastery a permanent choice again

I don’t get it CoF seems to make more with less effort.

Don’t use that feature then? Go ahead and level a new character if you want, no one is stopping you.

Thank you.

Cheating has nothing to do with competing with other players. By definition, cheating (in this context) is: “to violate rules dishonestly” which has nothing to do with other players. If I use the Olympic Torch bug in Skyrim to sprint indefinitely despite being out of stamina, I’m cheating. Because the rule of the game is “you can’t sprint without stamina” and I violated that.

Save Scumming isn’t exactly “cheating” as you’re not violating the rules of the game, which is why I put it in quotes when I said:

because while it’s not a violation of the rules, it’s playing the game dishonestly. If I’m playing a self-imposed Hardcore ruleset and die to a trap but decide to save scum to avoid the death. I didn’t technically cheat but it has a cheaty feel to it. If I’m playing a game with dialogue choices (i.e. Fallout) and I don’t like the outcome of my actions and save scum to get a “better” result, I’m being dishonest with the results of my original choices, which doesn’t feel great to me personally so I try to avoid it when I can.

Yes it is. But if Bethesda decided to change Skyrim’s game design to be a Dating Sim Visual Novel, would you just be like “well, it’s part of the new game design! Deal with it!” Or would you say “hey, your game design for years was an action adventure rpg, why did you change it!”

The original definition of cheating was to move out of the intended framework the developers have provided. A trainer is hence a ‘cheat program’, giving yourself items in true offline is as well.

Is cheating offline a negative? No, obviously not, whatever floats your boat. Online? Obviously so :stuck_out_tongue:

Also you’re focusing on the wrong point of his example, that wasn’t the point to be cleared up, it was an example for a reason. In examples not 100% of it applies, but the spirit of it should get through.

How about taking a deep breath and taking that stick back out from your behind? It kinda makes you grumpy I see.

@Scipo0419 told you from a personal perspective without attacking you… but instead you take it as a personal insult. If anything then that’s a showcase of bad personality, not anything you try to make it out to be.

Oh? Did the devs give out the option for refunds? No? Guess you’ll simply have to deal with it being talked steadily about from now on

If something is provided as a design-philosophy and highlighted repeatedly only to suddenly change that is breaking said premise… which is not a good thing to happen. Happens, obviously, sometimes different decisions are long-term better maybe… some are a mistake as well… but it doesn’t change anything at the baseline that it’s at the cost of those people buying into the product at a specific prospect, ensuring it stays alive and then being left in the dust despite of it. That’s a bad move overall, negative at any time if a company does that.

Really? I made 25 mil today by playing 5 hours. Nice free day. MG here… did CoF do that?

Sure, I’ll be screwed over in ~ 1 month again and make basically ‘0’ but for now I make a lot :stuck_out_tongue:
