What are the main differences between the two and which in your opinion is better? The gear seems nigh identical. I have been leveling a sorc but am not impressed by being stuck in one place by arcane assentation. Is Rune master significantly better? What are the main differences?

because of the passive you have more cast speed with runemaster, and it mater more than the damage bonus per mana cost. because LB is quite cheap and need to be spammed it’s better to have cast speed. And dependinf of what you need with the gear you achieve, Runemaster allow the use of runebolt for very fast mana recevery, the use of runic invocation for tanking/transportation or frost wall for two “more” multiplicative (more damage against chilledand more damage againt branded).
it’s just more versatile and easy to make work.
