Mage Teleport

I am trying out Sorcerer mage. Currently, I am level 81.

I have a suggestion on Mage’s teleport skill. It seems to be working so that you teleport to your mouse pointer. Personally, this feels awkward. I would rather it teleported a fixed distance and pointer is just dictating its direction. In boss fights, it’s quite hard to see the cursor’s location, sometimes I try to teleport out of a certain mechanics only landing within its circle.

Thanks for making a great game.

Play with a controller then, it works exactly like you want it

i recommend yolomouse for replacing your cursor in games. i’ve used it with poe for years and it works with LE as well. it doesn’t modify game files so it’s not a violation of ToS.

there’s a free version available that’s not updated anymore, and a version that costs $5USD on steam that’s more full-featured. i use the free version and it’s great.

Have not tried controller yet. Will put that on my list.
How do controller works when looting?

You move your mouse cursor with the right thumpstick over to the item then press A to loot. It’s quite slow but combat is pretty smooth.

Controller seems to help a lot with smoothing out game play, but it feels awkward for menus and especially crafting.

Also loot filter seems to be buggy if you combine the use of mouse/keyboard and controller, it hides some crafting fragments and some legendary dropped has no name (shows the tooltip to be the claw) and can’t even be looted with mouse.

Looking forward to improvements with controller support.

I’m not really a fan of this, I think that having to deliberately decide where you’re going to end with a movement ability is a reflection of skill in the game. I do understand it can sometimes be hard to keep track of the cursor though, but how does teleporting in a fixed distance help that? What if you’re pointing your cursor in the “wrong” direction because you’ve already identified you don’t know where it is, you’d end up in a place you wouldn’t in the first place. So to me, this is highlighting a separate problem, the visual fidelity of the cursor itself.
