Mage - Focus's "Energy Overflow" not triggering earlier with "Rapid Overflow"

Context

Focus Skill Tree
The Mage channeling skill Focus can become a damaging spell via the Energy Overflow node, which states:

You unleash waves of lightning […] each second while channeling.

Without any other nodes or modifiers, this means that after 1 second of channeling (and every second afterwards), Energy Overflow deals damage.

The Rapid Overflow node offers +60% frequency for Energy Overflow, which means it will cast every 0.625 seconds.

Bug

Expected: Energy Overflow deals damage after 0.625 seconds, and every 0.625 seconds afterwards.
Actual: Energy Overflow deals damage after 1 second, and every 0.625 seconds afterwards.

To reproduce:

  1. Create a mage with at least 20 points in the Mage passive tree (to unlock Focus).
  2. Specialize into the Focus skill.
  3. Allocate at least 1 point into Energy Overflow.
  4. Use the Focus skill. Note that it starts releasing waves after 1 second, and subsequent waves are released every second.
  5. Allocate 3 points into Rapid Overflow.
  6. Use the Focus skill. Note that it starts releasing waves after 1 second, but subsequent waves are released much faster (every 0.625 seconds).

So while the Rapid Overflow node increases cast frequency once it gets going, it doesn’t seem to affect the start time.

This would probably get more visibiliy in the Bug section of the forum… The devs keep an eye there and add things like this to their internal bug tracker…

Damn it, meant to put it in that section. Moved, thanks for the heads up.
