True, and without Lunge and Smite this was a long and boring fight.
This has been broken for 3 years. Companions also cant hit the boss so good luck being a necromancer or primalist. Dont worry maybe in the full release they will decide its worth their time to fix 
I have found a way to actually hit him with smite. Aim like way deeper into his model, about where like the end of his back is.
