After my first death, I was presented a screen that said something like “Your journey has ended” and it kicked me out to the login screen. I logged back in and it spawns me at the last checkpoint area. I still had all the gear and equipment on me that I had when I died, but when I checked my stash it was empty, all my gold was gone, and all my stored crafting mats were gone.
