Losing the desire to play monoliths

To give you an example, in POE, I am holding down both mouse buttons (playing a zoomancer) to trigger my Molten Shell and my Phase Run as soon as they are out of cooldown. Holding as opposed to clicking hurts way less and it takes much longer so for as long as I take a break every hour or so, I am fine.

As for that build, I found something like that one (I mean a warpath voidknight build) on last epoch tools as well. So yeah, maybe it could be an option and I’ll look it up.

I understand that without mixing all skills actively I will not reach high tier of corruption and it is fine with me. I can still enjoy the game to some extent

As a lvl 90 Paladin in empowered monoliths 100 corruption, I only die to DoT damage even with armor that gives armor protection from DoT. It’s strange to me that the end boss fights are much easier than the echoes.

So far it’s only the poison Scorpions and Diamond Matrons mobs with the fire DoTs. Everything else is quite tame. The scorpions feel completely overtuned. I know I need some more health before pushing corruption, and if I switch into an HH build it will be easy. It’s hard to judge if the difficulty jump is too much when there are stupidly OP builds.

Personally, I have more fun when there’s a sense of danger, and there is almost zero danger in regular monos if you play them at the intended character level. The new difficulty jump perhaps is intended to incentivize increasing corruption in regular monos. Maybe this is good for new players so they have a reason to learn the Orobyss fights, but otherwise still feels like a waste of time.

I didn’t tryed this yet but you can reduce corruption. Is 100 corruption the lowest you can get in Monos or can you simply reduce the Corruption to 50 and be good with it?

In empowered monoliths, the minimum is 100 corruption. So right now, I am in regular ones slowly raising the corruption. But the max there is 50.

So even in the harder monoliths at level 90, a corruption of 50 will be much easier than an EM at level 100 with 100 corruption.

Yeah sure they will be easier but thx for the info was to lazy to look it up ^^.

my issue is that there is a lack of interesting content in monos, what we currently have is merchants caches(which are just extra loot chests) and experimental mages(which have a very small number of specific affixes that are useful only for certain builds, and given that they only drop one item per go, this just isn’t enough to be good, as the odds of experimental affix and another good affix are quite low)

We lack enough interesting secondary mechanics for full clear to be worthwhile outside of the stability, and the two mechanics I just mentioned 1:do not produce a secondary objective when they spawn in a map(so I do not even know if they are there, so I do not actually look for them) and 2:do not reward extra stability for doing them

I would also like monos to have extra customisation beyond just how far I try to push curruption or which timeline I am farming for uniques/blessings.

The most interesting end-game mechanic at this point is CoF, and that is only for players that do not trade, if I didn’t have CoF I would get bored easy.

All the best of luck to you. Hope it gets better ASAP so you can have fun.

Let’s put things into perspective. Not many games release with a bevvy of endgame to sink our teeth into. POE had nothing of the sort, D2 obviously was in a different era with different expectations, D3 was a hot mess and D4 is also a hot mess. LE for all its faults has dungeons, a fleshed out monolith system, and factions. Refinement will come and additional endgame systems will come. What’s important is the foundation and they have that in spades.

Besides slowly scaling up your 90 monos to around level 50 corruption, don’t forget to use your dungeon keys. Dungeons tier 3 and 4 have an abnormally high drop rate for exalted gear and even come with favored item drops daily ( one day is amulets, another is helmets etc). Tier 3 and 4 mobs should be far more tame compared to corruption 100 echos with mods.

Even if you can’t kill the bosses you’ll have 100s of mobs to kill for gear. Use those exalted to try to craft solid 3 affix gear even if they have the wrong base types. That should give you a bit of a boost in some slots.

That is indeed a good idea. I have done all three of them on the first level to try them out and did a few run of the temporal dungeon for crafting uniques (but not more than level 2). I also haven’t really done arenas, outside of those in monoliths. The one I did I died on round 48 and it was a while.

Maybe alternating these with mono could break the loop and gives me options for gearing.

you should get a belt that has the stat to remove DOTs on potion use … super handy

I will do that, thanks. I should have thought of that.
I have it on my Holy Aura. Either it’s not working or on cooldown or I forgot about it.

I had same issue with Bleed warlock. Rather bad then good gear but somehow okish, I didn’t get good drops in normal. Run for the blessings and in every timeline - go empowered. So I did … I think around 85ish and it was hard, and hurt.

Then slowly moved to the low lvl health and was able to survive, but some enemies hits like a tank.

Now running 160 and well it’s kitting … just kitting  . It would be nice, if the empowered would start let say from 75is corruption?

I like to call that “optimize the fun out of the game” content.

Sometimes, people will answer something along the line of “get good”, which isn’t exactly appropriate or helpful in most cases.

For damage, I recommend a new weapon, craft 2 x flat minion damage on it. melee & spell, and bow & melee. Not every weapon can get every combination of those modifiers.

The flat damage are better than the +% damage?
Since they are not in the sheet minion section, it is hard to tell if they are better or not at all.

Flat damage is hard to get by otherwise. Typically, flat damage is better than increases.

And since EHG changed “increased damage” on weapons for flat damage, it’s not exactly as if you have a better option.

Quick example:
A skelly archer’s bow attack usually hits for 25 base damage - adding +25 from your weapon would double their damage.

Edit: It’s not that rare a modifier, so it’s easy to recolour them in your filter and search for the next best one, craft the affix to max, and just give it a try.

I understand that they are not that rare to find. I was just trashing them or selling them directly until now, especially as I was more looking for a wand with ward retention to increase my total ward instead.

I followed your advice and I was lucky to find a one hand sword with a T7 minion melee & spell damage on it. I’ve lost maybe 400 ward (which still leaves me 7k). Hopefully it will help a little in clearing the monoliths. I’ll try it out tomorrow and see how things goes.
