Not sure if this has been mentioned before, couldn't find it but maybe I searched wrong. Just some feedback that I think would help.
When loot is on the ground, it's frustrating when collecting and the floating text isn't where the object is. I click on an item to pick it up and my character will walk to a different location where the item is actually at, then click on another and I walk to another location where that item is. The item names are side-by-side or one above the other.
I know this may seem minor but it does get a little annoying.
Speaking of floating text, this was the hardest post i’ve ever tried to read.
Not sure if you have tried it, but you can shorten the names down to “short” in settings and this helps a lot with keeping the names much closer to the item placement,
I assume they have 2 problems they encounter when you have “Long” names activated
- either the names will all overlap on each other if you want the names to stay directly above the item
- moving the item away from other items so the names don’t overlap is going to make you walk around anyways
The current implemented system isn’t to bad with long names for small drops, but with long names and more than 10 items dropped it starts getting a bit hectic.
Just watch the intro to the regifter build and you’ll see exactly what I mean
Im not sure what they could do, but a possible solution in my opinion would be adding a faint line from the item name to the actual item so you can see what it really is, of course clicking half a screen away to pick it up would still be an issue unless you can click the line as well
Thanks Boradman, “short” names helps a lot. Don’t know why I never thought of that.
Not sure why the post was hard to read but at least you got the gist and I appreciate input.
The format of your post in the Original post has a scroll bar at the bottom so as I read I have to move the bar left to right and then back for each line lol. I’ve never seen that setup on the forums before.
It looks like it’s been posted as pre-formatted text rather than just posted as normal text.
Yeah, I saw that when I posted and didn’t know why it did that. I posted the same way as usual but that one changed. Maybe I accidentally clicked on something.
I think it’s because you indented the first line of the text.
If you click on the “Preformatted text” button when replying with a blank reply then you’ll see that it indents text.
Testy McTestyface.
Hovering over that, Ctrl+Shift+C is the keyboard shortcut. I must’ve been hitting Shift+C during the text and accidentally fat-fingered in the Ctrl by mistake. Lesson learned.
Short item names and/or filter out more items is only way I can see to fix things.
As for your post you turned on preformatted text (shortcut ctrl + shift + c). Or you typed ` at start and end, as that’s the code for it just like [ quote] [ /quote] is the code for quoting.
