Loot filter

How about adding a rule for pinning items to the mini map like Uniques all ready do. That way you can see it in the map if it drops as your speed running. For those build specific affixes. Sorry if this has all ready been suggested or mentioned.

Although I don’t feel particularly strongly one way or another about this subject, speed running doesn’t seem to be something that EHG wants players to focus on/want to support. I’d still like this feature, but I wouldn’t use it for speed running.

Even if they do not want speed runs to be a thing people will do them. How else are people going to farm Mono Passives? Besides that it will help identify drops that happen off screen from ranged or DOTs.

Just because they will be a thing, doesn’t mean that EHG has to support them in those efforts. We still don’t know what the final Monolith will look like – farming the blessings may not even be a thing, we just don’t know. I did indicate I’d like the feature as well.

This has been suggested in the past and Mike Weicker (one of the developers) has said in a developer Q&A that not allowing the player to enable the effect that Unique’s or Set items have for other items in the loot filter is a performance consideration.

The reason those items can have it is because the developers know that it is generally unlikely that there will be dozens (to hundreds) of Uniques/Set items all on the ground at once. Allowing the player to put a similar effect on any item of their choosing could potentially tank performance for that player. So until this effect becomes more performant it will likely remain Unique/Set item specific.

It was also suggested to limit this additional loot filter functionality to just Exalted items – and this very well may happen, but who knows.

That is a bummer but I see for the performance side of things.

I found the specific video if you wish to hear Mike explain it better. It should start at the right part of the video, but if not skip to 1:00:52.
