As a long-time Path of Exile veteran who’s been making their own loot filters for over 15 leagues, I have to say that one of my favorite features in Last Epoch is definitely the loot filter system. It’s intuitive, powerful, and a huge quality of life improvement.
That said, I think there are two things that could still be improved in my opinion.
The first one might be unnecessary for some, but I personally love a bit of visual flair—I’d really enjoy seeing even more color combinations available for loot filters. I know it’s mostly cosmetic, but I like to make my filters not just functional, but also satisfying to look at.
The second one is filtering Unique items by name. I know that, with enough effort, it’s currently possible to target certain Uniques by filtering for item types, affixes, etc., but I think being able to directly filter by Unique name (just like we can in the Bazaar search) would be a huge step forward. Ideally, this could also be extended to filter based on LP (Legendary Potential), Weaver’s Will mods, and so on.
I haven’t seen any dev comments or roadmap info about whether this is planned, but personally, it would be a massive help for me—especially when chasing specific Uniques in the endgame.
I really like the idea with the cosmetic flair. I personally would really enjoy being able to assign icons to drops similar to the ones that come with uniques and certain mats. Knowing I can see when that double tier 7 items drops on my mini map would be huge QoL for late game when you’re obliterating echoes back to back.
If you go to your conditions and scroll down there is an option called “Uniques” under “Item Type” that will allow you filter items by name. I learned this not too long ago and it changed my life. The Devs are definitely on top of it! I hope that you get traction with your idea. Good luck!
Filtering Specific Uniques was added in Patch 1.2.1 on April 24th, so 2 days after @Hubiplay posted this thread.
Regarding more colors, this was requested countless of times already and I don’t see a reason why they shouldn’t add mroe eventually, but I don’t remember any of the devs specifically talking about this. So it either is not possible without much work or it will come eventually anyway.
I didn’t know it was so recent, thank you for enlightening me to when it happened. I’m very happy that it’s been implemented and enjoy the feature a great deal.
