Loot filter suggestions

As someone using loot filter (LF) quite extensively, I rank this suggestion probably higher than “end game content” or “rework/buff class X”. Sure, it’s an awesome tool, probably best in market, but at some scale cracks start to show.

More informative filter

Currently, when LF UI is up and loot in laying on the floor, we can see the rule number that have “showed it”/“hidden it”. We need to look up the ... (134) reference in the long list of rules to understand what is special about this item or its affixes. It’s also tedious to open the loot filter UI just to see it.

Proposals:

  • Replace the item name by the rule name (Immortal Vise → Very rare uniques).
  • Add a “tag” field in a rule, which (if filled) would replace the (123) appendix with your short tag .
  • Allow presenting the tag/changed item name during normal gameplay.

Folders

When dealing with long/complex filters (100+ rules) it would be great if we could organize those rules into folders.

Basic features:

  • Creation of a folder inside of which rules can be created.
  • Rules can be, as always:
    • reordered,
    • duplicated,
    • removed.
  • Folder can be collapsed/expanded.
  • Folder can be duplicated, removed or reordered across other folders/single rules.

Probably reordering would only make sense where the folder is collapsed.

  • Folder can be copied to a clipboard aka exported.

This way a folder can be shared across multiple filters. Examples:

  • you have twinks and there are some items useful for many;
  • you want to share a set of commonly good affix filters for several of your rogues;
  • instead of faffing around with custom rules per each clvl you want to put them into separate filters (like “campaign”, “early monos”, “corrupt monos”, “endgame”) where some (high value) rules should be present in each of them (at the top.

Extra features:

  • Allowing nested folders (folder inside a folder).
  • Allowing hard-link-style sharing (you copy & paste not raw clipboard, but rather a shared folder that if changed will be changed across all the referrers).

More visualization options

Rule should allows specifying visual elements like:

  • font size (large, medium, small)
  • capitalization (already in)
  • underline or italics
  • background color (opaque or specific)
  • border color (opaque/dark or specific)
