Loot Filter - simple interface upgrades

I love this game and the only thing that has frustrated and annoyed me over the years is the loot filter, more specifically the gimped interface to create rules.

Firstly, giving players the ability to create Affix Groups (as suggested by other players as well) would simplify using and changing rules. I know this can be done by directly modifying the XML but this is both time consuming and prone to user (me) error.

Secondly with just a little addition to its logic the loot filters would be more flexible and powerful. For example, a simple NOT modifier to conditions would be helpful, and maybe combining rules/conditions with OR. The linear top-down implementation is seriously limited.

A couple of changes to even the interface, let alone the actual filter logic/implementation would vastly empower and improve the filter.

Keep up the good work !

Agreed. Inability to NOT is a real pain sometimes. I like that the rule engine is simple, because most players need that… but at least NOT would be helpful. We can sort of get OR by duping the rule and changing the conditions slightly for the OR case, as most rules are pretty simple.

The #1 simple thing I want, is to more “emphasis modes” aka “border color, fill color, text color” an “icon” marker, and a short “note” (even 4 letters would be fine)… so I can draw attention to items without overwriting their rarity color.

Currently the only way to do this is to use “emphasize” which make the text all-caps, but this basically only gives me one emphasis reason.

For example, I would like to set “affix farm” rules to make the items pink, and then show an icon based on the affix-farm rule it hit, so I can make priority decisions in the flow. I can’t use multiple colors to do this today because it’s visual chaos and too hard to manage.

I agree and I am sure they are listening on the suggestions and changes will be made in due time. At the end of the day everyone just wants for the game to be improved in all the possible ways.
