I think that’s supposed to be a tin hat to protect you against the aliens.
I think that’s supposed to be a tin hat to protect you against the aliens.
I’ve always wondered how tin was supposed to protect anyone from aliens. They’ve mastered interstellar flight, but can’t figure out a basic consumable for reheating food?
It’s because aliens emit microwaves to mind-control you. The tinfoil protects you from them. Or make your brains more delicious. I forget which.
Well, do they first need to perforate the foil, to vent? My head/brain doesn’t have re-heating instructions, so I hope the aliens have done some testing in their kitchens back home.
Usually there is no need because tinfoil users already have a higher average of air space available inside their cranium. So it balances out.
Well, that creates an entirely new problem – air frying. Now they are in danger of over-cooking, without even realizing it. Those poor aliens.
Maybe that’s why they come here: they want to learn the ancient mystical secrets of pressure cooking.
Well, that might explain their hostility towards us. We should be more forthcoming with our secrets around 6-hour chili and stews.
(if this isn’t the very definition of hijacking a thread, I don’t know what is. Well played, @DJSamhein )
MP was also tested. And we saw how that started out…
And GGG & Blizz also have bad launches with their miniscule experience with online, launches & live services. What’s your point?

I figured it was obvious. “It has been tested” is about as reassuring as saying, “Blizzard has experience in this, so it should go well”. You actually further pushed the point you didn’t even see… thankyougoodsir

No, I was pushing a point you didn’t see but thought I was saying something else.

This is starting to have those, “I know, that you know, that I know, that you know, that I know, that you know…” vibes…
Yup & I can go on for longer than you can, just ask my almost ex-wife.
I’m not so sure I should take you up on that offer to meet at a pub. A couple pints in us, and we might undo existence with devil’s advocate, for the same of devil’s advocate discussions… heh
So seems my concerns were warranted. With everything new they added in, many things that were working no longer are, and then there is online uptime and login and zoning issues. Had they patched the live release to the early access, even for 24 hours, maybe many of these issues would have been resolved with what would have been the public effectively stress testing your launch build that added a bunch of new stuff. That is why wide scale testing is required. All the white knights here who said they did testing, evidently not on a large enough scale.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

They did do stress testing and scalability testing and paid for what they thought would be sufficient physical hardware, etc.
This is what they said 3 days ago:
We’ve scale tested for months with third parties, consultants, the help of infra providers, and our own backend team. We have the ability to scale servers quickly, have reserved a large amount of bare metal machines, and do not have a maximum spend for cloud overflow- it’s all elastic. From the extensive testing we’ve done, unless we do have a really crazy turnout, we should be stable. It’s not lost on us that many much larger companies than us have had issues at launch though… We’re optimistic and if there are issues it certainly won’t be for lack of effort, spend, or ignorance to the importance of launch day.
Clearly shit went pearshapped & they got a “crazy amount” of people trying to play and the matchmaking servers caught fire.
Yesterday was better than the day before because I could actually log in with a character and play through till the first town then wasn’t able to get any further.
I’m assuming @Shrukn is happy that it released mid-week so that they could fix shit before the weekend rather than it be this bad all weekend (which it still could be).
Paid shills

Hello. I have been banned from the forum for about a month but I dont really want to post here anymore due to people trolling me.
However I played on release. Took the whole day off work and didnt get to login for around 6 hours after release
I basically sat on the login screen from 1 am > 6:30am, then played until bed. but D/C about 15 times and wasted 80% of my playtime stuck in a zone
Got to lvl 70, got Last Steps of the Living for 1,000 gold so I had a decent release
Also loving Warlock tbh and 1.0…
Havent played since 11pm last night and its 6pm next day…and I cant login? The issue is EHG didnt rent enough servers and there is no Queue system
D4 launch was actually perfect for me personally. Game was to release at 3am, I was logged in at 2:58 making a character…
Thank you for notifying us. Cheers!
It works smoothly for me. What is big, and what is small?
