So i know that devs will very likely improve upon on the current Buff/Debuff visiblility.
But i would like to hear some feedback of different players what buffs they would like to see asap visible on their buff bars. Also i would like that buffs with very small durations (like 4seconds) to stand out more than buffs with longer durations.
And i am talking about buffs that really alter your gameplay behaviour or rotation. For example buffs that you need to keep up or defensive buffs were it is really important to know if itâs still running or not.
Some of those buffs are already visually visible on the playerâs character but needless to say that is not sufficient, especially in high tier gameplay.
So i will start out with some of the stuff i do have alot of experience with and for buffs that might not be obvious âwhyâ i want to see them i give a brief explanation.
Acolyte:
Bone Armor: I am using the new Bone Curse âMarrow Thiefâ Node, which gives me a chance to recieve Bone Armor on mob kills, so this is not consistent but i can have quite a good uptime. When engaging very dangerous mobs and bosses and i didnât have any trash mobs before to trigger bone armor i do use Transplants âBone Armorâ Node to give me Bone Armor at the start fo combat reliably. For me it is vital so see if Bone Armor is running currently or not, because i will just use Transplant if i have to during trash and for boss fights when there are not adds to kill.
Sentinel:
Devouring Orb: The minimal information i would like to get is the duration of the Devouring Orb that has longest remaining duration. Usually i do have multiple ones up when playing VK, because of Echo chance. But i would like to get an idea of when to refresh it, since i just using it as a selfbuff.
Anomaly(Time Bubble): I am using the Anomalies âTime Bubbleâ Node in conuction with âTime Lordâ Node alot, which makes the Time Bubbles follows me, so basically just as a selfbuff. With all duration Nodes and the âLingering Memoryâ Node it has basically 100% uptime without any cooldown reduction, but i still would like to know the duration of the Time Bubble.
Lunge(Initiative): This one is already visible but i would like it to stand out more(maybe the edge of the buff icon should be coloured), because as soon as devs will add alot of this buff timers the buff bar will most likely become a bit cluttered.
Mage:
Flame Ward: Same as Lungeâs Initiative Node, i would like this one to be 1st visible and 2nd to stand out.
Fire Shield: Very long lasting but no cooldown
Teleport: This skill has alot of âwhen cast recentlyâ nodes (last 4 seconds). And depending on your cooldown reduction that skills cann have below 3 seconds cooldown easily. Would like to have an general indicator buff that last 4 seconds with the baseline Teleport Symbol.
I will most likely add mroe skills as playing the game, but those are the ones i know from the top of my head.

I am not against showing âeverythingâ, but there are still alot of stuff that is probably not so gameplay relevant. So there needs to be a way of disabling stuff that you donât wanna see or what you suggested, where we have different categories.
EDIT: Also this whole post was kinda an attempt to give devs possible prios when adding this stuff. Eventually everythign will be shown which is fine.
But for my current Main, the Bone Armor thing is really really gameplay relevant.
Ok, bone armour would be useful for your acolyte, but on my Sentinels Iâd like to see the attack speed buff from smite, the protections and strength buff from lunge, any of the âxxx bonus if youâve used yyy skill recentlyâ. Or the âxxx bonus if youâve killed recentlyâ and âevery 3 seconds your next attack has xxx bonusâ from passives.
Anything that might cause me to make a different decision if I knew it regarding the current state of my character.
Ah yeah you reminded me of another passive node from the Void Knight Passive Tree. Not ingame right now, but i think itâs called âPatient Doomâ or something like that, the one that gives your next melee attack like 100 or 120% increased damage every 3 seconds.
For Mage, Iâd add Lightning Aegis, especially because thereâs multiple ways it can proc (Lightning Blast skill node, or when hit with the Idol or the Mage exclusive affix) and the effect is potent. The current indication is an animation around your character which is helpful but can be forgotten if youâre not always looking for it.
Another important one if you take it is Ascended Current from the Elemental Nova skill - âShocks you inflict have increased effectiveness if you have hit an enemy with Elemental Nova recently (past 4 seconds).â Reason being that if youâre using Nova and then swapping to another skill to use, itâs helpful to know when to refresh the buff to gain the shock effectiveness again.
I havenât played around as much with Primalist, but my Shaman is currently using Eterraâs Blessing for the protections (Safeguard node) and spell leech (Lifestream node), so having indications for those two separate effects (Safeguard ends when Eterraâs Blessing ends, whereas Lifestream ends after 4 seconds) would be helpful.
EDIT: Also, I forgot about Aspect of the Storm from the Tornado skill, since this buff can end earlier or last longer than Tornado itself and it provides various benefits (movement speed, attack & cast speed, mana regen) that are useful to know when to refresh if youâre not capable of continuously spamming it.
Excellent examples, now when talking about it Lightning Aegis is indeed a very good example, because i think there are multiple things that interact with it, like idols etc.
